My first impression of this professor is that he was very nervous and sweating. The class was not interesting and his teaching was very dry. He seemed very nonchalant about his relation to his students. Would not recommend him.

Definitely quirky. I got the impression that he didn't really care about the class...which is ok with me (I wouldn't be so excited about some of the classes either) as long as a teacher grades accordingly. He doesn't do that and instead grades pretty irrationally. "Kids who should get A's get C's" is the right comment.

I had him for IH I, and I liked him a lot. Real intelligent, loves in-depth discussion, and REAL UNDERSTANDING. I missed a bit of school that semester due a death in the family. He was real cool with me about extending deadlines and making up tests. Sure, he sweats and hesitates to give out A's. So?

He loves sweating and making his hands move. If you write a paper, don't expect an A. He won't give it to you. He infuses his own opinions into the grading, so if you don't agree with him, you cant get a good grade. But the sweating is too much.

I had him for intro to political philosophy, i thought he was a great professor, he has busy hands though. tehy are sometimes a distraction when he breaks his spirit fingers out during class and starts shaking them all over. but other than taht he is good

dan will often makes up the pronounciations and meanings of foreign/classical words, and impresses his opinions on you. he gave me a 70 on a paper in a freshman class... i'm a junior that transfered in from upenn, it really couldn't have been that bad.
