Dan Hollis is definitely the best professor I have ever had. I never want to skip class because his lectures keep you entertained and understanding the material the whole time, even at 9 am. Take good notes on what he's saying (he'll tell you what's important to know for tests) and you'll ace the class. I wish I could take this class again!

One of the best if not the best professor so far through my first year. JMC 101, Media Literacy, is probably one of the most enjoyable classes on campus you can take, and it isnt too hard either.

Hollis is the biggest jerk on Marshall's campus. If you're not a good looking girl or a male suckup, he wants nothing to do with you. when you go into his office, it is filled with his favorite students (mostly girls) and he acts as if he has zero time for your petty questions. I got a great grade in his class but would not call him 'good'.

Dan is seriously the coolest guy. Hes hilarious and very enthusiastic. You must take notes in his class or you wont pass. He gives 3 tests with a cumulative final. He used to be a journalist so he has first hand experience. He wants everyone to learn and succeed. I would definitely take this class for a humanities credit.

Dan is an amazing professors! There is no book nor power points. Lectures are very important the first test may be a little difficuly because you have to adjust to take proper notes solely on his lectures. The second exam and final should be know problem after getting the swing of taking good notes.

Every day Dan was energetic. You can tell he's passionate about what he's talking about. His class is pretty much all lectures, so be sure to take good notes because that's pretty much all you have to study. It's not an overly difficult class though, and the subject is interesting.

He is one of the most beloved professors you will find on campus. He gives everyone 5 free days to not show up but then afterward you essentially lose 5 points. He tests are not hard if you actually show up for class and engage yourself. Sit up front on the first day and you will get on his good side.

Ok listen. Dan Hollis is one of the best teachers I have ever had, and he is absolutely my favorite professor in JMC. He is engaging, like the floor is his pulpit and all the words he's saying are the holy text of the media. I love this class, and I think everyone should take his 101 class regardless of their major. That's how important it is.

Everybody at Marshall loves Dan Hollis. He's charismatic, hilarious, and iconic on campus. He's fantastic at lecture and keeps students engaged in conversation. It's never boring in there. He's not very flexible with deadlines, but it's not a hard class to pass by any means.

Dr. Hollis is humorous and lively and ensures student alertness. Be prepared to listen in class, as he discusses a lot in a rather quick pace. He does not post lectures online, they are all spoken. Although there is a lot of note-taking, homework is just a one page paper on a news story. He will randomly assign up to 8, but only 4 are mandatory.

I believe he's one of, if not, the best professors I've had at Marshall. He truly cares about the students and will go over things multiple times to make sure you get it. He's also a hilarious guy and he is full of energy, so there's rarely a dull moment in his class. I'd definitely take him again.
