He's better at explaining logic than the random html codes that the program require him to spam. An amazing man and he's hilarious. I was hoping to get him for Web Programming but he doesn't teach it this year You'll just need to do some work by yourself to connect things together as html can be a set of random spammed codes.

Comment:

Zen makes sitting through class entertaining, which many teachers don't do. He's a pretty easy going guy, and his exams are really straightforward. Gives us the right amount of breaks, like no teacher does at Sheridan (Thank god!) It is mandatory to go to his class for the first half, and you'll know why when you take his class.

You will never feel bored in his lectures, very dynamic and funny. He will help you a lot and with passion. One of the best I ever had.

Although his teaching methods are a bit unorthodox, I found them to be decently effective. He uses humor to engage with the class so that people are less likely to zone out, then gives important info after cracking a joke you just have to selectively retain the info. The uploaded materal 4the course could be more expansive, but the teachin was good

He cares so much about his students and is willing to do anything to help them. He is very knowledgeable in the content and that shows in his lectures. That being said you need to show up to class because he doesn't really follow slides, but seems to pull things off the top of his head as he teaches. Best web teacher at Sheridan, hands down.

Dan's lecture slides are very short and doesn't explain a lot. I found myself having to do research on W3Schools to get a better explanation. The group assignments and exams are pretty straightforward. Pay attention to stuff he says in class because he might put them on the exam. He's always filled with enthusiasm, even at 8 AM.

Didn't really learn much from his class and mostly taught myself. Easy marks though and Dan is a genuinely good guy. Unfortunately while he does know his stuff, he's not very good at teaching.

He knows his material. You'll see this bc he uses his previous works to showcase the course material. However, his lectures were very fast paced and I would have benefitted from more homework to understand the concepts he teaches. While it is important for you to go to his classes, you should also expect to need external material to aid you.

An extremely outgoing man with far too much energy for 8am class. You either love or hate his enthusiasm. Sometimes you can hear him from next door when you're in another class. Aside from that, he's a great professor that knows his stuff. Very generous with marking on tests and assignments. Attendance is 100% necessary to pass.

Very enthusiastic about his work and is hilarious. Uses a lot of visuals to teach. All assignments are done in class so you have to attend to get marks (they take like 10 minutes to do and are easily graded). Exam was pretty easy, just make sure you know your definitions and diagrams.

He is really funny and he helps you learn really good. His lectures are not boring at all as he makes it fun to learn. Take him ! Assignments , tests are all fair and good .

Fun loving guy, likes to talk a lot about his apps. However all jokes aside (and there is a lot of jokes), retrieving valuable information from the classroom was far too complicated. Midterm and Finals, you are on your own. You will need to research EVERYTHING, and learn it all on your own if you want a good grade in his class.

While class was in and of it self enjoyable, it was ultimately useless. Class notes are terrible, lectures are long and ramble filled. If you know some basic wed programming, then it will not be a difficult course. If you don't you would be better served learning the concepts using an online course. The material will be more cohesive and compact.

He's pretty crazy. Explosively enthusiastic; too much so. Spends way too much time promoting himself and his work; teaching is basically just doing in-class examples. Marking is not too hard, but if you actually want to learn, he's not the best.

Whether or not you will like his class or not depends on your personality. Some students love his class while some do not like his class. For me, I think he is a pretty cool teacher. Dan Zen is a very easy-going person and he loves to make a lot of jokes. If you do not mind that, then you are likely to love his class.

This guy is very funny and all over the place. The class he is very easy he in pretty unorganized. But on the other hand when he does lecture it is good and knows his stuff. He also goes way off topic talking about his own work and theories which are so annoying to listen to.
