Pretty good class, you'll get a lot of history along with the devotional so that you actually learn and it doesn't feel like you're being graded on your testimony. There's a ten-hour project, but you have the whole semester to do it, and it's actually fun if you're careful what you pick. Have fun!

Dr. Pike is a great Professor. His class is set up in a way that you have to try but its not super hard. Go to class, do the reading and youll be just fine. He doesn't assign any papers that are ridiculous or pointless. He was very willing to work with me and other students due to everyone needs. Id recommend his class to anyone.

Great teacher, but the tests were SO HARD! Also expects you to study past tests when he won't let the testing center post what answers you chose.. frustrating and just made the class even harder.

I second the opinion below. The class lectures are, if not entertaining, well prepared and engaging. However, the tests' difficulty is remarkably incommensurate with the amount of credits offered for the class. I completed nearly every reading assignment, took copious notes, and was never absent, yet I will still receive no higher than a B.

Great Class. I've taken some intense religion classes but I really like this one. His expectations were not over the top as religion classes tend to be. I learned lots of great information and the tests were not too difficult. Just know the packet and the scriptures. Highly recommend!

an absolute joy to learn from - call me silly, but I failed his class (yup, failed - long story) and then retook that same class from him because I enjoyed the lectures so much. it's too bad he isn't teaching 212 this semester...

I loved this class a lot. Dr. Pike was very knowledgable and the tests were pretty easy, except the final was a little more challenging. I loved lectures and I learned some pretty cool stuff to help improve my study of the New Testament.

Great professor! Very enthusiastic about class, teaches with clarity, and explains history about the scriptures that make them much more understandable. He is very clear on what he expects for his tests (study guide). I learned great insights about the apostles and thought the class was spiritually inspiring.

He's an awesome guy, always smiling and excited to teach about the New Testament! I learned a LOT from this class, and by reading the whole NT and writing the simple journals from him, I feel so much more prepared for a mission! His class requires commitment from you, but overall, I found it inspiring and fulfilling.

Bro. Pike is a nice guy, but he wasn't my favorite religion teacher. He does know alot and if you go to class, you'll get a good grade. The only thing I wish there was more of is a spiritual tone to the lessons. There is a good amount of reading that you have to do entries on, but it's not difficult. Okay class, but not my favorite.

He isn't a bad teacher, and he knows what he is talking about, but there seemed to be a lot of reading that we had to do that was unnecessary. I got annoyed when people would ask stupid questions abt the OT, and he would go on forever answering it despite its irrevelance. We were always behind, and I didn't feel prepared when the tests came.
