Comment:

Lots of reading and a hard class. It is kind of hard to understand his ideas, but he is very helpful and wants students to succeed. He seems very intimidating, but he really is friendly. 4 short papers, 2 longer essay papers. LOTS of reading.

If you are already comfortable with writing papers, this professor is easy. If you go to class and do your homework assignments, you will be fine. He always gives you 100% on all homework and drafts, as long as it is obvious that you worked hard on it. The last paper, he marked a lot of stuff off on mine and I still received an A on the paper.

Please please please choose another teacher. He is almost impossible to understand and is not very helpful. He thinks everyone should understand what he is saying and most of us don't. I am an A student and I received a C. NOT GOOD.

Great guy. Really cares about his students, and he knows his stuff! He might not clarify his assignments very well at first, but he is very responsive to student questions/concerns. He wants you to succeed! But he is no easy grader, sorry folks.

Ringuette pretty much sucks. I'm an A student and got a C in his class. Sure, it was probably mostly my fault, but this guy is boring. He's got a "my way or the highway" type of personality. Also, he went off on so many irrelevant tangents in his lectures that it was hard to decipher what the hell he was talking about.

He's a really good teacher, and he really knows his stuff. Pay attention in class, take good notes, and all that jazz. If you have a problem go talk to him because he really appreciates it, and if you're on the border with a grade, he'll give you the better grade. STRAIGHT UP

This guy was pretty tough. Long lectures, make sure you take detailed notes it helps on the midterm and final. Not very clear, and he assigns six responses that he does not grade until the end of the semister. That part was rediculous

He was not the easiest teacher i've had, and he gave long discussions that didnt seem to go anywhere. Take good class notes, and you should be fine. Watch out fo his responses, that he does not grade until the end of the year. I got a C and i'm a B student.

I had a lot of fun in this class, but I didn't really begin to grasp the literary theories we discussed until my senior year, two years later. Maybe that's just me though.
