I absolutely love Dr. Afonso. I am a Biology major but have been singing my entire life. This class allowed me to relax from my other classes as well as feel like I was apart of a family on campus. He cares about his students a lot and if you don't show effort, he will be tough on you. Definitely worth taking this class.

He is a perfectionistn and expects his students to give their 100% in class, but doesn't require much else. He's a reasonable man, and an exceptional director. My Stanislaus experience would be severely lacking without him. Plus, he was unbelievably supportive during some tough times I went through. Afonso is the best

Dr. Daniel Afonso is an amazing choral director. He motivates you to work hard. If you show up to class and learn the music you will really enjoy classes. He is tough sometimes. Especially if you don't get his sense of humor. Try the class. If you don't like it, just drop it. You could even come visit for a day and see if you might enjoy the class.

Dr. Afonso is a good and funny choir teacher. However, he is very disrespectful and mean. He is rude and judgmental, and sometimes very irrational. He cares about his classes though, and sometimes he encourages his class by positive comments. I wish he paid more attention to the details in the pieces instead of lecturing about ridiculous things.

Dr. Afonso has got to be my favorite professor this semester. He really helped heighten my love for music. He can be demanding because he yearns perfection, but all for the best reasons. Can't wait to take him for choir again :)
