Comment:
Daniel Labrie may not be an amazing lecturer but he is an amazing man. I have never met a person so willing to help you in every way possible. Take notes in class, review text, and have 1on1 conversations with him. He will work out problems with you. Take the time to talk to him and you will understand how great he is. He loves dark chocolate.

'If you are 5 min late, your homework won't be graded'; weekly 7-10 qn assignments, c to f-parts each. Never elaborates when asked; refers you to text. Skipped special relativity (kinda important?) to do an optics review - doesn't understand the material, so teaches what he knows. Forced entire class avg down by adding extra qns to homework. Avoid.

Comment:
PHYC 3000 is a ton of material, but Labrie does of great job of condensing it down to the essentials. It's a lot of work, but you learn a lot as a result. He doesn't give out extensions, but is usually happy to answer your questions. He loves colorfully decorated front panels on LabVIEW programs, so use that to your advantage.

He has been in Nova Scotia for about 30 years and can barely speak english (he is from Quebec). Very disorganized but is amazed by lasers and anything flashy (hint for reports/presentations)

Dr. Labrie is extremely approachable and goes above and beyond to be helpful. His expectations are high, but he is more than fair in assessments. His enthusiasm for physics is clear.
