The weekly home works of riddles easily destroyed entire weekends, the quizzes were impossible, and the final project resulted in multiple days of no sleep and endless amounts of frustration. But the A- i got in the course is a large source of pride.

The course includes weekly homework that will easly eat up 5 hours of your time... minimum. Thats not including overlapping labs and group design reports that are also weekly. No one in class truely understands the grading system. I would apply to arts arts and sciences and then transfer to LCS just to avoid this course.

His class is pretty challenge. Exams are nearly impossible, but he always curved them. If you want to get a good grade, you have to work your butt off and put a lot of effort in it.

Killer professor. He'll make the class challenging to see how well you can perform in a class which makes you think critically -- unlike the style of thinking found in high school. An A in his class is entirely possible, but he'll make you work your butt off for it

I have had Pease for ECS101, CSE283, and CSE382 and he is an amazing teacher. Stay on top of the homeworks and you will be fine. Tests are kind of hard but are curved. Usually has an optional final. Sometimes the wording of his assignments are unclear. Office hours are usually at bad times. Overall best teacher I have had at SU in my 2 yrs so far.

This class is the reason I dropped out of Computer Engineering, so much for being an intro class, definitely not much of a transition into college. Seemed like a nice guy, but not always available.

one of the professors that will give a deep impression at the beginning of ur first semester. You will enjoy this tough class if u like it. My strong motivation was trying to beat him and prove ourselves, though he won at last.u will find u have learned a lot from his class

Easily one of the best professors at SU. I think I managed to take everything he taught by the time I graduated. Very flexible and helpful. If you stay on top of the homeworks, most of his classes had an optional final, which was a huge benefit.

the homework is very hard and can take an extremely long time, and its easy to fall asleep in lectures, but missing stuff will make the class insanely hard

Great Prof. He will be willing to answer any question you have - no matter how stupid it is. He will even go back to teaching you the very basics of math or cs or whatever, if need be. He is also hilarious. You will laugh a lot in his class. Additionally, he is very helpful and does not mind interruptions. Probably the best prof ever that I've had.

Pease is not so much a bad teacher and he's definitely not a bad person. Its the whole computer science program, in general. They expect that you have already mastered computer science and that you can understand what they are talking about. Unless you are serious about computer science, I'd suggest that you change majors or schools, because despite what they say this is not a true introductory class.

boring, useless class, useless busy work....if you can get work from someone who has already taken class because the TA's who grade the HW don't take off for plagerism.

THE WORST teacher I've ever had. Not willing to help students at all. If you don't already know computer science, don't go into the program at Syracuse because no one in this school teaches it. They expect you to already know.

Great teacher, tests are hard but he compensates by curving them for the most part. He had an optional final that could help or hurt your grade, but he gave personal recommendations on what each student should do in their situation
