Dr. Rogers is probably the best professor I've ever taken. He is so knowledgeable about the subject and his quizzes and exams are made to be easy and passable for the ones who study. His lectures are actually quite interesting. There are 3 easy books to read throughout class for quizzes. DON'T use your cellphone in class though.

Comment:

Dr. Rogers is a great professor! He lectures without a power point but knows EVERYTHING about history. He's so smart and tells it like a story so its usually pretty interesting. No textbook but you will have to read some short books that he assigns, not difficult. Don't show up, wont pass. Stickler about phones. Gives extra credit. I have a 103.

I loved Dr. Rogers. He made his lectures interesting so it was easy to follow along. Though there is no text book for this class, we read 3 other books over the semester. He doesn't care if you skip, but if you do you better have a friend in the class who takes good notes because his tests are straight from his lectures. 2 tests & 5 reading quizzes

So far, this guy is my favorite professor at South. He knows what he's talking about (obviously since you don't even have to have a text book for the class) and his lectures are phenomenal. I enjoyed this class even though I had to work to pass. You have to take good notes or you will fail. He takes attendance 90% of the time. I'd take it again. :)

Tough grader especially on essays during mid term, final, and term paper. Has to add points to bring up averages on tests. Last two weeks most important in class, 75% of final questions are on the last weeks of the class. Does not require references on essays but without them anything but a C is impossible. A true GPA buster, only take if needed.

Comment:

One of the best professors I have ever had. He is very kind, helpful, and interesting. You read three small, but interesting novels in his class to take quizzes on. The only thing you shouldn't do is pull out a cell phone in his class. That will set him off. Other than that it's a wonderful class. I highly recommend it!

Mr. Rogers was an awesome teacher. He didn't use a textbook which proved he obviously knew what he was talking about. He also knew a lot of extra fun facts that made his lectures more enjoyable. He is pretty strict about phones and talking, but not in a scary way.

You will not use a textbook in his class, but you will be required to purchase other books, usually primary sources and read those during the semester. You follow a schedule which he gives, so this isnt hard. Tests are difficult, but if you study for them yu will pass easy. He is a lecturer and he likes input, but do not interrupt, he hates it.

I have never had a history class that didn't require a text book so that was a challenge because your notes are the study guide. Very fair grader, interesting and he knows so much stuff. I've never been a huge fan of history but his class made me one, actually considering a history minor. I hope to have Dr. Rogers again.

Very strict about classroom manner. Do the readings because you will be quizzed on them. Two exams, multiple choice and essay. I highly recommend his class, he is the best teacher at South. He knows so much information! You never stop taking notes in his class, it is a constant flow of interesting information. All of his classes are great!

Dr.Rogers is a outstanding professor. I have had him three times,and each time I have had him I have came away with a greater understanding of that topic. This past semester I had family issues which caused me to miss my finals and fail most of my classes. He was the only professor who contacted me and allowed me to make up the tests and paper.

I have taken Dr.Rogers 3 times, he is one of the best History professors at USA. He also happens to teach some of my most favorite historical topics. His History of the Holocaust class was the best I have teken. Though I made a mistake with the formatting of my final paper and got a low grade. Otherwise I have yet to make below a B in his classes.

Dr. Rogers is an amazing professor, his class is all lecture based, but it feels less like a lecture and more like a story he is weaving in front of you. The books for class are all very interesting a relevant. No expensive textbooks. He is just amazing. I would recommend him to anyone.
