I took Professor Sandman's CHEM 84.523 Organic Reaction Mechanism class last semester, and I didn't expect that I would be one of his last students. Professor Sandman passed away on March 4, 2016. He was a great teacher, mentor and scientist. I am really glad that I took his class, got to know him, and received a really satisfying grade. RIP.

He's absolutely horrible. worst teacher I have ever had. He gives tons of hard homework, and quizzes once a week that have nothing to do with the homework, then his tess are unrelated to both the quizzes and homework. Thirty kids enrolled in my class, 9 were left by the end and only two passed, and only one above a D. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!

This professor teaches at a rigorous pace and lectures most of the time. He gives partial credit on exams and quizzes, and allows plenty of chances to maintain good grades. His lecture style is what I expected of college level classes. He knows everything there is to know about chemistry,andis willing to help you, if you're willing to be helped.

Professor Sandman is perhaps the most intelligent professor in his field at UML. The have been various paper written on him and he's conducted outstanding experiments. Too bad for petty college kids he does not give an easy way out but actually cares people learn it. It would be an honor to have such a praised man as a professor. Kids are lazy...

if you take this class you will fail. there is no curve no matter how bad the whole class is doing. he writes on the board for hours on end and barely notices how well the class grasps the material. basically the worst grades ive ever gotten were in this class.
