Dan is hilarious, hands-down. If you don't read the text but pay attention and take copious notes during lab and lecture, you should be just fine on tests and quizzes. Weekly quizzes in lab, three midterms, and two projects that you get to choose the topics for. A very nice, understanding, down-to-earth instructor. Will make you laugh every day. :)

I found this instructor's handwriting illegible and his style of lecture on the dull side. He leaned heavily on a handful of examples to back up his points and spoke mostly in generalities (the phrase "GIGANTIC trees" came to grate on my ears). He's nice and personable, but this class simply didn't offer me a thourough understanding of the topic.

I loved this teacher so much I just had to take another class with him. He is the funniest teacher I've had so far. If you really want a great learning experience take BI 141 (Forestry) with him. The whole class really bonded and learned a lot (more than you ever wanted to know) about trees. He is extremely passionate about his work and I would reccomend him to anyone interested in trees, birds, or just falls asleep in Science class. :)

Taylor was one of my all-time favorite teachers. He's hilarious and really knows his subject. His tests are really easy (just take notes on whatever he says - it's all there!), but I still remember a lot of the info more than 2 years later. HIGHLY RECOMMEN

Dan is an excellent teacher. I would reccomend if you need to take Biology that you take his course. He makes learning fun and interesting. He is a super nice guy with a great sense of humor. He is very approachable and very clear on his explanations of the subject matter.

funny guy. Gives lots of good info. Knows his subject well. Tends to wander off and start rambling about Costa Rica and/or birds. But he's entertaining and his class is a good time. Agree that he doesn't waste your time. If your done with your work or lesson for the day, he cuts you loose. A+

Awesome lab instructor. Very funny guy, makes the class entertaining. Also isnt one of those lab instructors that makes you stay until the very last minute - when your done with the material he lets you go. Hes easy but not at the expense of the material.
