Shes not bad. Shes just doesnt know how to handle 100 students in a class. She doesnt respond to everyones email and is blunt as hell. The class was half online so going to class felt like a waste of time. The talks are so tedious it makes you not want to care about your public issue anymore. Midterm is just extra work given to you.

I've never had a teacher that told us not to take notes during class time. The class only consisted of 3 grades for the entire semester. She is rude at times and doesn't answer you're questions when you ask her. If you have a choice, don't take her class and save yourself the headache.

Dr. Gibson is a terrible professor. Throughout the whole course of this semester her lectures were completely off task and had absolutely nothing to do with the material in the textbook. She would talk about one thing then hop to the next, then talk about her grandson, then the weather. VERY hard to get in contact with outside of class!

Mostly happens outside of class and you don't even need her. You have to make online, YouTube speeches and comment on your 'group members', whom you never meet in person. Easy class that just means do the speeches!

Took the class online. Have to make 4 video taped speeches and upload to Youtube. 4 discussions mandatory discussions. You need to also critique other students' videos. Final is from the book and very tricky. She takes a while to respond at times.

Take this online if you can. It is VERY easy online and you can re-do your speeches as many times as you want until you get the right one to send as a grade. She is very helpful on what she wants done for the speeches and they are fairly easy. She is VERY hard to get in touch with though. Never got responses to any of my questions.

Pretty easy A. I took it online. She LOVED giving useless discussion assignments that kept me tied up when I had other more important things to do. She wasn't very good at responding to inquiries by students. It was pretty boring, but I would recommend her class to anyone trying to get communications out of the way!

I have taken 2 classes under Dr. Gibson and she hasn't ceased to amaze me. She understands her students are busy and recognizes that students may have to skip a couple classes in order to get things done. She makes me excited about my major and really REALLY knows Communication. Tests were easy; essays were easy. She is great. Seriously.

Take her MAYMESTER class, it's 3 weeks with 3 speeches all on the same topic. I have a huge fear of public speaking, but it actually wasn't an issue in this class. We even had the option to do one speech on youtube.com then submit it to her. Make sure you have your spearker notes and printed slides on "talk" nights - GREAT class...highly recommend

Only 3 speeches on the same topic. Class is ok not really too important. DO THE 50% online,because it makes class fly by! Whenever I asked her a question she would talk me like I was dumb. She is rude at times but I WOULD recommended her class.

Dr Gibson is not a good teacher. she only clings to her pet students. she was my advisor and told me that I should drop the program bc of my GPA however I still had another semester to get my GPA up which I did and graduated but she was very discouraging, and she also wants a great deal of recongnition for helping low income mothers, that is for sh

Take her Maymester if you can!!! You do one speech a week (total of 3) and all of them are on the same topic. Only had class 6 days!!! It was so worth it. if you take it during other semesters, you do more speeches and you have to learn more. I didn't have to kill myself to get it all done like you do in some Maymester classes!

i loved her. i hate public speaking more than anything in the world, but she actually made me feel more comfortable and i ended up doing really well. i took her class for maymester and it was a very good idea because i was done before i knew it. be respectful and she'll like you.
