If you can take this for your Intd DO IT!! Very easy A. The topic itself is very boring but its not the worst thing in the world. There are several short writing assignments (no more than 2 pages double spaced) and he gives you drafts so if you correct what he tells you, you get a good grade. A lot less work than other intds i have heard about

Professor Norris is a great guy, and very chill when it comes to assignments. However, his lectures and tests don't correlate, and his slides that he puts up aren't usually very helpful which I found challenging. Only 2 tests-- the midterm and the final, both of which are all True/False. The class requires very little work outside the classroom.

One of my favorite professors. He doesn't follow the syllabus, but he is always very clear when an assignment is due, and what is expected. For the graded assignments, just put in some effort, follow the instructions, and you should be fine.

Dr. Norris is a funny guy. His class isn't too hard, but to do well you need to go and listen to his lectures because there is no textbook. The research paper isn't too bad and if you go into his office hours he'll give feedback and there is an early submission option where he'll grade your paper and allow you to fix it for full credit.

This is the second class I have had the pleasure of taking with Darrell Norris, and if I could take more I would. You HAVE to get to know him outside of class. He is one of the few professors here who does not flaunt his status and realizes that his goal as a teacher is to aid his students in becoming more successful than he is. Take the class.

Literally the best professor here at Geneseo. The class counts for two gen-ed's, and it is a blast with Darrell. He has the biggest heart, and is basically a British goon who will love you if you get to know him. I wish he taught every class at Geneseo, because he was the only professor to believe in me. 10/10 would recommend.

Norris is an amazing professor, and if you get the chance be sure to take American Landscapes, which was cool because we learned about a lot of physical expressions of culture (like domestic architecture) that we would never learn about otherwise that i still reference. He's funny, and if you need to miss a couple classes you'll be fine.

While lectures are a tad dry, I would say this class was relatively easy. There is no textbook, which is nice. There are 5 papers to write but they're VERY easy and relatively short as well. I think they're 2 pages tops. Tests are difficult because they're T/F but he grades on a curve so you can still do well. I'd take his classes again.

Prepare to go to his class not to learn, but to be inspired by this absolutely hilarious British goonie whose only agenda is to help you and provide further analysis upon his own adventures to bring light to similar concepts to be spoken of during class.

Professor lectures throughout entire class period. Somewhat easy grader. 5 Assignments which are pretty simple with clear directions. One research paper. Midterm was TrueFalse. Final was TrueFalse with 2 essay questions. Read through and understand the PowerPoints thoroughly and you should do fine.

Norris is very knowledgeable in Geography and admires students that are interested in the field. Easy, as long as you attend ALL lectures. He is very specific on his frustrating truefalse midterm and final. Pay close attention and take notes. Go to his office for help with research papers and individual homework projects. Easiest in department.

If you want to take a class where he rants for over an hour, has powerpoints filled with useless pictures, and pointless assignments along with a midterm and final where nothing he lectures is on it, then by all means go for it; you cannot miss class because there is no textbook just him and his memorization of wikipedia. Do not recommend to anyone

He was (and I guess still is) my academic adviser, but has never advised me on anything. I've taken about 5 classes with him, and I started off respecting him immensely. Then I realized it was just his accent I loved, and he's just like any other prof but more lazy. Definitely recommend if you like a fun class, without much challenge.

Dr. Norris is an amazing guy. Although his lectures are dry, he has a huge amount of information to give to students. I would recommend him for any class. Easy assignments, truefalse tests, and a research paper... that's it. He gives minimal work and is an easy grader. I got a C on my midterm and still have an A in the course. Take his classes!

Real easy class mainly due to T/F tests, although he talks about absolutely random topics a good deal of the time. Nice and engaging guy who always has an interesting story for the class. For an easy elective I would recommend.

This class is very different from his lower-level class. It's taught in a seminar-style- the class, along with the professor, all learn as a team. We collected and looked at lots of really fascinating data from across Islam. Definitely my favorite class at Geneseo so far.

Norris uses old studies and stories to teach this class. While somewhat interesting this made it hard sometimes to learn the principles of human geography. Class is relatively easy with T/F tests, a research paper, and 5 brief homeworks. Does not have a textbook but believe that hinders learning the subject. Class can be quite boring at times.
