The secret to getting on Darrell's good side: engage him, ask questions, and swap theatre stories. Stick with his lectures, they may seem casual and tangential, but you MUST go because he will test on things that aren't in the book. He comes off a little rough, but he's actually really nice and sincerely wants to see his students succeed.

His teaching is terrible, he mumbles and can't make eye contact with anyone, and his tests are full of info that is never in lectures or the reader. More importantly, he's a bad person. He only likes boys who are nerdy and act like they're attracted to him, so if you want an A you should invest in some knee pads.

Darrell wants you to succeed, and learn and Understand. While the class talk wonders sometimes and may not have a set topic, the information is there and he knows it well. Don't be afraid to ask things again, he'll be happy to tell you more. If you take responsibility for making yourself understand, you'll be fine.

Darrell. If you want to go into production management then take his class. Very knowledgable, knows A LOT (practially a walking theatre encyclopedia). Lectures are long, rather tedious, a lot of information to digest, but beware of tuning out - it'll appear on the tests. Group projects will test you, but it's all worth it in the end. Great teacher.

This person should not be teaching (opinion). Well is a way I suppose he doesn’t. When He disagrees with you or doesn’t like you he will invariably respond to your comments and questions with "I'm not comfortable with that" or "I'm offended by that" No logic or reasoning he just makes every thing out to be a personal attack.

oh my gosh! Way, way, way, too many off topic stories. And he repeats them over and over. I expected this to be through and tough. It was neither. I was I had taken an equivalent before transferring. And all the safety? Safety is number one in my book but oh my gosh give us the rules and move on!

This class is not very easy if you have no background in theatre. Yet, Darrell makes the information accessable. Make sure to go over his reader. Even though he does not assign reading it helps with the tests.

Too many stories, very boring. The tests are ridiculously hard (100+ fill-in-the-blank), since it's hard to tell what you are supposed to be taking notes from in his "lecture." He was neither helpful nor friendly when I missed classes due to an illness.
