Comment:

Mr. Abbott is my favorite teacher i have ever had at any level of schooling. He taught me a lot about writing, and even more about myself. He is very caring, even if he does not seem like it at first. He has a great sense of humor. He is basically like the really cool grandpa you wish was yours. Mr. Abbott is a teacher id take again in a heartbeat.

Sees himself as the smartest guy in the room, and feels the need to prove it. A little bit of a creepy vibe. I'm surprised no one has mentioned the sexual harassment complaints. Wish I had know about that sooner. Do your research on this guy before you take the course.

I love Mr. Abbott! I first had the chance of meeting him when my boyfriend was taking his Shakespeare class on the two days i didn't have class he would let me sit in his class instead of out in the hall doing homework. now i have had the chance to take his english 101 class and i am beyond excited!!! he loves hello kitty but thats a secret!!

Comment:

Mr. Abbott is a great professor. He seams intimidating at first, but in reality, really nice. He is helpful whenever someone needs help. Gives good feedback, suggests a better approach when appropriate. Just do the assignments and turn them in on time. Keep everything, because it is needed for the portfolio, take notes. Would definitely recommend.

If you don't get offended by political talk and jokes, this class is actually very good if you can look past those things. He is a great professor and goes over everything you need to know about technical writing in his lectures. He takes time to work with students. Simply show up, do the assignments and turn them in on time and you will pass.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. Besides Bullert, the government teacher Abbott is the next worst teacher I have EVER had. He doesn't teach you anything and expects you to do this assignments that even himself probably couldn't do. You also take this midterm that is almost worth half your grade and it is on stuff that this man never ever teaches you.

I had English 220 - Intro to Shakespeare and also English 101 - Composition and he was a wonderful teacher both times. He was very quick to explain things and has a lot of stories to tell - sometimes relevant, sometimes not. Just beware that he's also very opinionated, especially about the government and sometimes it comes off as a definitive fact.

He is hilarious and all you have to do is relax, pay attention to the discussions which many students think are off topic but trust me they are not off topic, and finally just take notes. You are assigned fifty 10 minute writes throughout the quarter with also 6 easy, explained essays

I wasn't a huge fan. He is a very nice man, however, he was extremely hard to follow. He would begin talking about one thing and then flip over to something else without any warning. His teaching style is a little bit confusing and hard to follow. He also doesn't seem too keen on helping when a student reaches out.

This course was fantastic. He's hilarious, engages in the text and the subject matter, and makes class so much fun. Show up to class (most of the time), turn in your journals and take the quizzes (which are all online), and you will pass, easy. And on top of that, you'll have a great time.

Professor Abbot expects you to participate. He's got a strange sense of humor but after a few days you don't notice the strangeness anymore....:) If you need help, he is right there for you. Participation, doing the work assigned and paying attention to what he expects will get you a pass. Tech Writing has been useful to me in my other classes.

Nice guy but not an English teacher I would take he doesn't teach the class anything. We have to work on our essays on our own without getting help if you ask for help he doesn't really give you much feed back. If you want to learn don't take the class, but if you want the grade only I do recommend it

Mr. Abbott is the only teacher I would ever take another english class with. The guy is a fantastic teacher and gives a crap way more than any other teacher I have had. Do your jounals, show up to class, and do your essays and there is no way you can fail.

Almost all we did was talk about gun laws and other politics. I don't feel like I learned anything substantial about English and writing. He's an interesting guy, but he rants a lot about things that shouldn't be talked about in the class. Make sure you do the journals when you're supposed to.

I took his ENGL 235 in the winter quarter, good teacher and tries to help if you don't understand an assignment, and he gives about 8 in the quarter. He likes to go off subject sometimes. However, try to make a friend in the class who's a good student so you guys to work on assignments together and ask each other for help. IT WILL SAVE YOUR BUTT!
