he's a great professor and cares if you do well or not. he gives tons of chances to do well in class. he doesn't tolerate cell phone use in class and missing class and determine if you get a B- or a C+. overall, he's easy going as long as you communicate with him. He cares if you understand the content of the book.

He makes class very interesting and very funny. I enjoyed his class. His test are very hard and confusing, but show up to class and it will be easier to understand. He gives tons of opportunities for extra credit. His class is great and he is a great guy.

Comment:

Wonderful teacher! He was funny, engaging, helpful and always willing to work with you if you needed it. He makes learning about the human mind as entertaining as it was informative. He does these casework assignments where you invent a patient for each mental illness and describe their symptoms and diagnosis. Not always easy but really fun!

Dr. Alfano is very knowledgeable. He lectures using powerpoints and relates the material being taught to everyday life and uses humor. Read the book and study and you will have no problem passing the tests. He also gives plenty of opportunities to get extra credit. Great professor.

Comment:

Dr. Alfano is a true gem. He is a wonderfully dynamic professor. He is a kind and funny man that brings lots of fun into his lectures. I found this class very challenging due to the amount of terms to learn. There is just so much stuff! He gives 4 tests and ends up dropping lowest. I ended up with a great grade, but not without tons of studying.

Dr. Alfano's has a way of relating every psych term to real life events. He's always able to answer questions. There are weekly homework assignments. All exams are multiple choice, he drops the lowest grade for everything, and the final is take home. By far the best professor I have taken! He knows his stuff well!

Dr. Alfano gives an absurd amount of activities/case studies. It is not humanly possible for him to read all of it. I got no feedback on any of my work. As long as you hand it all in you will get full credit. Exams are ok, he likes trick questions. He is disorganized and you need to make sure your grades are accurate in BB. I feel he is bored.

EXCELLENT PROFESSOR! I took General Psych with him also, Alfano is a great professor. Highly recommended! Must show up to class, since he does cover a lot of material pretty quickly.

Very lazy teacher depending fully on powerpoints to do the "teaching".Seldomly got out of his chair.I worked hard and got a well deserved A but did not like that he let students get away with turning work in late all the time without penalty.It was frustrating to see students take advantage of his laid back nature and get grades they didnt earn.

Best teacher on campus. I had him for general pysc and abnormal pysc. I was never bored in either class. Powerpoints available online and printing them out will help big time. He knows what hes talking about, hes funny, and he makes it interesting. However, do not let that fool you. The tests and final are difficult. Highly recommended.

Dr. Alfano's class is different. He is funny and makes class enjoyable, but dont let that fool you. Really pay attention to the power points, study, and read the book. His exams are tough, ESPECIALLY the final exam. KNOW YOUR BOOK WELL, THE INDEX IS YOUR BEST FRIEND.

He is very interesting. He wants his students to do well. The abnormal course itself is very hard. If you study the study guide, you should be good. Make sure you go to class. He trys to go over a lot in one day. he never ends class on time (either early or late). It takes a lot of study time to pass.

He has got to be one of the worse professors I've ever had. I took his online class which he is useless when it comes to help. He posts grades online and stops mid semester leaving you wonder what your grades are. The HW is way to difficult for an intro class. He never gets back to you whether you call or email. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!

Cool professor! Tape the class he does go fast on ppts! practice tests are online most are test questions slightly changed the first is almost completely from the practice test online then reduced to about 20% online questions on final in class. Last exam is takehome! Interesting class!!!
