Overall, easy class. Don't need the book really, can get most answers for study guide from lectures, going to his office hours, or emailing him. Participation is encouraged but doesn't majorly affect your grade if you don't do it. To pass just go to class, take notes, and fill out study guides.

Honestly, I hated this class mainly because I have no interest in weather. I thought physical geography would have more to do with natural landscapes but all you talk about it weather. He's super specific about grading so you probably won't get an easy A, maybe even no A at all.

HONESTLY,The professor's questions in the quiz makes everything hard. If you do not like power points , dont even think of taking this class. Very unclear questions on Test and Quizzes. If you get bored watching a weatherman on tv, then come to class with a pillow. You are welcome.

Professor May is great and really cares about his students and has a passion for what he is teaching. Attendance matters so make sure you go to class. His quizzes can be tough but he gives you a study guide and will help you with the answers if you go to his office hours. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS; this saved my grade in the class!

There are scheduled quizes every two weeks but be prepared for unannounced quizes as well. There is only one Exam all semester, its the final and it is comprehensive. There are also three assignments that are important to the class. The Textbook is VERY important to this class, there is some out of textbook reading but only one articles.

He's a nice guy but likes to make you work for your grade. He's more willing to help if you go to his office hours and make an attempt to answer the questions instead of just wanting him to give you the answer. The quizzes are a bit tough so make sure to start the study guides early to give yourself time to learn it!

Nice guy. He grades tests and quizzes ridiculously hard but if you study you should be able to pass them with C's. He does offer allot of extra credit. Nice guy just grades this class like its people who are majors and not a LAC. Way to hard for LAC. One of the hardest graders I have had at UNI.

VERY nice guy. I took Physical Geography with him. No tests, just quizzes. If you fill out the study guide for them you'll do fine. Lots of extra credit quizzes, and one comprehensive final. Easy class if you pay attention. Go into his office hours and show that you care about your grade, he graded easier on me after I did.

Getting a good grade in this class is definitely possible, but it is a lot of work. There are several quizzes and assignments and a final exam. Go to class every time throughout the semester and you will get 25 extra credit points. I recommend this class.

ok he is a very friendly and nice professor and is very willin to help but physical geogrphy with david may was the hardest class i have ever taken. my roommate has the same class diff prof and we learned nothing about the same material- MAY's class is so difficult and demanding what ever you do DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. hes a nice but its not worth it

some assignments, in class activities, short answer quizzes and 1 final quiz. always gives a guide of possible questions on quizzes. Really friendly and helpful professor. Take good notes and fill out the study guides and this class isn't hard. Make sure you attend class every time to get 25 extra points at the end.

I am not a geography major, so this class was EXTREMELY boring for me. But you can tell that he cares VERY much for this subject, which helps. No book, just articles that he posts. I would like to see a course packet of those articles, it is annoying printing off 300 pages worth of materials. No tests, just bi-weekly quizzes and a "final" big quiz.

Really boring class but if you can stick it out and take notes no reason you can't get an A. I got a C but never attended class and missed a few quizzes and assignments. He is also really helpful. He takes attendence but it doesn't affect your grade at all it's just for his records.

Always comes to class in a great mood and is always smiling. No tests and only a few easy quizzes. Attendance is mandatory, but he lets you know where you can find his lecture Powerpoints. Saw him a year after I took his class and he was still smiling and he still recognized me.
