Dave is definitely not everyone's cup of tea. If you want to just skim through your college career and pass, his classes are not for you. He challenges you to think and grow and accept new ideas, and Dave is an amazing instructor for doing so.

Took his class, and failed. I'm usually an A, B student and decent at writing long papers. Failed every paper I wrote for this class because I didn't think like the professor. Writing papers was very difficult and hard to understand what kind of thinking and writing he wanted.

Not the best. His english classes were more like philosophy classes, and if you don't go along with his personal biases and pander to his way of thinking, you'll be sure to have a hard time. If, however, you put up with the B.S. and are a decent readerwriter you should be able to get through without too much real work.

Openly pointed out flaws and personal choices about students in front of class, followed by him expressing personnal disapproval. I took an English class. Barely talked about literature, instead he turned it into a philosophy class. I would not suggest takeing him as a proffesor.

Was a very hard teacher.. his tests were very hard. He is a funny and upbeat guy, who loves teaching. I just don't think English is a subject that he should be teaching. He grades really hard on essays and such. stay away

Dave's teaching is intense and always makes you think. He shows utmost care in how his students are understanding his material. I totally recommend Dave for a class! I'm currently in Humanities with him and it is just as enjoyable!
