Comment:

One of the best professor I had in WPI, took both BB4550 & BB4065 with him. Chill, funny, and super knowledgable person. Course is all in paper form, no textbook since he think textbook is useless, he hope student can learn to read paper, understand the concept, and critique whether the paper have goo "data". Exam is an oral exam, get A for both.

Dave's lectures are incredible, filled with super cool info (if you're into bio) since he's been involved in so much research. His exams are objectively hard, all very specific multiple choice (lots of references to figures from the book), but he grades on a very generous curve (it's not hard to get an A).

Dave Adams as a human is AMAZING but Dave Adams as a professor is unbelievably difficult. I would not take this class unless you really know Biology. Your grade is based off 3 tests and they are scaled to the max because they are so difficult. His lectures are amazing and he is the smartest person Ive met here but his tests are too demanding

BEST TEACHER EVER honestly take anything he is teaching. Lectures are not recorded, but you will do well if you go and take good notes. His research is awe-inspiring, and he is my idol. Super knowledgeable, one of the leaders in the field, so definitely a must have if you're at all interested. Remember to read the book too! He gives you the pages

Dave is the man! Nominated for a noble prize (!), tremendous lecturer, and pretty funny. He works from the board and is very organized and good at explaining. No written HW, but tests cover 50% lecture and 50% assigned reading. Tests are hard, but take notes and make sure you know the bold book terms. Curves generously - 70% should get you the A.

Dave Adams is the man. He talks in third person sometimes which is a little funky, but if you get passed that he's the best lecturer I've come across. He's engaging, very passionate and has an encyclopedic knowledge of the subjects he teaches. I'd rearrange my schedule to take classes with him. They're not walk in As, but they're worth it.

GREAT lectures, very enthusiastic teacher. 3 tests in total, all multiple choices. The tests are hard and detailed, and contains materials from the reading only and not covered in lectures, but he tells you exactly which pages to read so it's all fair game. One of the best professors I've had at WPI.

Fantastic lectures! They were very interesting and very relevant. Professor Adams is so entertaining, often referring to himself in the third person. He is very helpful if you make an appointment to go over questions and lecture material with him before a test. Tests are tough and specific, but I would definitely take one of his other classes.

I found the way he taught to be very intriguing in the classroom setting, but hate the way he tests on minor unimportant details from the textbook that he expects you to learn without even mentioning any of it in lecture...

Professor Adams is a passionate teacher. His tests seem impossible but the curve is a wonderful thing. In order to get an A, the readings are required. I would highly recommend this teacher. Some of his lectures blew my mind.

First of all Dave is an awesome professor. He will get you very interested in the subject! However, if you want to get an A in this class you have to work your ass off. Start reading the reading assignments as soon as you can, don't wait till the week before the test. Read all the pages and take notes!

Best professor I have ever had! He is a GENIUS and is extremely passionate about his teaching, as well as helping students learn. His lectures always make sense and he keeps you interested. Exams are very difficult but he grades on a curve so you can still get a good grade!

Took all 3 courses he teaches and LOVED them! He is incredibly passionate about biology and loves to share his knowledge with students. He has made some breakthroughs in his own career but is down to earth and is happy to teach. Crystal clear to understand and explains complicated topics well. I learned more in his classes than in any others!

Easily one of my absolute favorite teachers at wpi. You can tell he loves what he is teaching and makes it all really interesting. Tests were really difficult tho, a lot of memorization (curved grading makes a B pretty easily obtainable). Only teacher I've ever seen get a round of applause during the last lecture... also looks like doc brown!
