Good teacher, good stuff he's teaching! Interesting, captivating and controversial! It's worth your time and effort. He is kinda tricky in his exams,no extra credit and only 3 exams per semester.Go to class and get great notes. No blackboard slides, so you gotta work for the grade. You'd better have some genetics and bio information.I recommend it!

Ok, we get it. You do fieldwork and you wrote a dissertation and you do research. Great. Taught very specifically on his areas of interest and did not veer too far from his own research. A bit arrogant, but he does know his stuff. I did learn more about bones than I ever cared to. You don't have a choice, he's the only prof for this class.

pretty much an easy a. exams are basically from the notes he gives. some exam questions are a bit tricky. i didn't even open the text once. he's very knowledgable about almost everything in general. he talks about his professional experiences as a forensic anthropologist.

Barondess is a good professor, although i did have some problems with his class. Firstly there was too much reading. Over 1000 pg coursepack, and much of it was redundant. Expected cited sources from the oversized coursepack on exams without warning. Make sure you have LOTS of time to to devote to the class. Heavy workload

Course is a challenge, but very laid out if you have him. He is extremely knowledgable with this subject. Doesn't hand out grades, you have to earn it- but he helps you along the way. Many examples and external material.

He is sometimes difficult to get in touch with, was not entirely honest with me when I applied as to the curriculum I would be able to take. As it stands now, my course work had not helped me attain a job, as I was promised when I applied under Dr.Barondess many years ago. He needs more honesty.

One of the best profs at WSU. Teaches to actually teach his students, not to impress them with his knowledge, though he knows his stuff (one of two forensic anthropologists in the entire state of MI).

He sometimes made me nervous with the amount he wanted us to learn, but he gave great lectures that were very easy to follow. He is also extremely interesting and knows a lot of foresnics and osetology if you're interested in that area

excellent teacher, extremely knowledgeable in the field of physical anthropology. knows what he's talking about, can get a little cocky, but for good reason. overall, very nice if you show you want to learn.
