Comment:
Professor Bartley is such a genuine & sweet teacher that wants all of his students to succeed! His jokes aren't always funny, but I love that he laughs at his jokes. The tests can tend to be easier than quizzes but they both can be pretty difficult. Take lots of notes and make sure to read! There's a lot of reading, but it helps. Study with others!

Comment:
You could tell Dr. Bartley has a passion for history, but he certainly expects a lot from those a little less enthusiastic. If you do not read the textbook, I promise that you will fail every quiz and test. His powerpoints contain little of what's on the quizzes and tests. Some of the group work was fun, however not fun enough to retake.

Dr. Bartley is not my favorite history prof, but he is funny and the class is relatively easy. He does go off on tangents, but provided you like history you will enjoy the tangents. He drops your lowest quiz and test score (in this class anyway), and as long as you are a good note taker and do the reading, you will get an A.

Completely ridiculous class. Horrible prof for a gen ed. Tests are monsters and there are only a few of them. Really funny guy, but this class is not worth it.

Does nothing to help students. No study guides, no in-class review, basically just read and hope you retain the right info for the test. Lectures are totally irrelevant to class, just a bunch of rabbit-trails.

I really like Prof Bartley because he brings both sides of the story to the table. He makes history interesting. You do have to apply yourself and study but overall it is a very enjoyable class and he is a wonderful professor.

He is extremely nice and you can tell he loves the Lord. He made history come alive for me. My only complaint is that his tests are VERY hard. There is simply too much material covered in the reading to know what to study for the test.

Constitutional History was the greatest class of my semester. It was not vigorous for its high level but I learned far more than I did in my other classes because of the excellent way it was taught. Bartley is a great professor and is very knowledgeable about all current events and political issues.

Dr. Bartley is my favorite professor here at IWU. He is knowledgeable and engaging. his class is not designed to be rigorous or laborious, but rather just an oppurtunity to learn. his insight is very valuable to a history major.

I took every class I could with Bartley. Here's why. He's passionate about his job and you can tell. His historical knowledge is mindblowing. He will do anything in his power to help you and is extremely entertaining in class. Don't think you can slouch though. The material is tough, as it should be. We're creating responsible citizens here people.
