Teacher is very helpful. For any students in lower level classes he is probably bored with you all.. sorry to say, as would most of us nerds. He is trying to teach VERY difficult material. SO if you do not put in a very large effort to see him after class and at least ask for help REGULARLY, he will assume that you are not fit to get even a 'B'

I also took a 400 level class with Dr. Bauer. Extremely nice, willing to help AND gives you more info about what to expect on tests if you ask questions about it! Ask for an exam from an old semester to work the problems and then he'll give you an answer key. This is very helpful, and you'll actually understand the material better.

Dr. Bauer is a nice guy. I don't see why everyone is complaining... he gives you an almost verbatim version of his mid-terms and final. He may be picky with the homework but if you pay attention to the basics you should get an A. Great teacher if you allow him to help you

Look, maybe he's soft spoken, and maybe he doesn't give clear explainations, and maybe it's near impossible to get an 'A' no matter how many hours you spend teaching yourself the material, but he IS a nice guy and that's what really counts, right?

extremely soft speaker, sit in front..attend not nec..2 tests, final, & weekly hw. practice tests (ask 4 answers if not given) will get u a B on test. study tests & practice tests for a B on final. overall not bad, but u will learn nothing from him, and he likes very detailed, explained answeres..hard to get an A but an easy B, if you do the work

He's a nice guy, and I sincerely think he tries to help you, but he just can't. He's not an effective teacher at all. I honestly thought myself this class. I have a notebook full of notes I had to take myself yet I still didn't understand his tests. Don't take this class.

this guy was my TA for patty williamson. He did all the grading and he is an unfair grader. he is one of those profs that is wayyy too smart to be teaching kids. unless you really know ure stats, you wont understand his explanations. so yea, wahts the point? take mays if at all possible. i ended up with an A in the class, do your hw.

Bauer's test are SO EASY. He gives you a "practice test" of the exam and if you know that, you are guaranteed a B. I only went to 2 of his classes, and I have an A. GO TO LAB, you will learn a weeks worth of stats in 50 minutes, and do the practice problems out of Mays workbook.

Dr. Bauer tried to be helpful, but I couldn't make sense of his classes. Smart, nice man - but definitely shouldn't be teaching lower level statistics. Made it much harder than it had to be, but can't really say why it was so hard to understand him. If you have trouble with math avoid this class!
