Comment:

If you ever wanted a walking encyclopedia on auditing, he is it. Very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. He knows the subject is dull so he does everything he can to liven it up. He gives 4 pop quizzes but they are a walk in the park. Very easy 100 pts. Tests are a breeze so long as you utilize the given question banks.

I took Prof. Burns because of all the good reviews on here. I barely pulled out a B. He talks all class long without ever showing an example. You have to teach yourself out of the book and then he will go over the answers. Very hard tests.

Professor Burns is one of the funniest professors on campus. He takes a dull subject and keeps you interested. Also, he quite literally wrote the book on auditing! Easy tests, he tells you exactly what will be on them.

Dr. Burns has a tremendous amount of real world experience which he uses to illustrate the auditing field in a classroom setting. He is very interesting and funny. His tests are VERY difficult, but he grades on a curve. And, yes, you will need to write an audit report from memory on the final (this was one negative about him). Overall-Great teacher

Comment:

Burns is one of the funniest professors. First half of class Acc History; Second half issues in accounting. 2 exams and group project/presentation. I was frusterated with so-so grades on midterm and group project, but there must have been a generous curve at the end as I got a much better grade than I expected. Overall very easy for Acc course

Dr. Burns hated this class just as much as the students did. He often let us go early because the class was 3 hours long and he thought that was cruel and unusual punishment. He also swore a lot. That's why we liked him.

Nice enough guy who cusses excessively. His shtick gets old though. Cursing for emphasis can be very entertaining but every other word just isn't funny after a few minutes. The material is dry and he does his best to make it tolerable. Color me unimpressed overall though. Very easy class. He wants you to do well in the class.

He's the #1 Professor at UC -- hands down!! Very intelligent and knows his stuff. He cuts to the chase, no BS. I learned a lot. Fora boring subject he made it very entertaining. His stories are hillarious and on the subject. He's a sharp dresser -- never seen him wear the same outfit twice. He's the man!!!! Love him!

Total bad @ss! Straight shooter who tells it like it is. He is like an intelligent, thinner version of Doctor Phil. One of the smartest and funniest professors at UC. Scored the highest on the CPA exam in the state of Indiana when he took it. Giving good grades is his job.
