Professor Crook gives energetic lectures every class, and he is clearly passionate about the material he is teaching. He makes his grading criteria clear for every exam, and he really wants to see his students succeed. I highly recommend any class with Professor Crook.

This was an amazing class! The reading material was excellent, and Prof. Crook as awesome-informed, funny, passionate, and interested in us really learning something. If you can, take this class! It will intrinsically change the way you think about performance (and you'll find yourself using the word "issue" a lot, too).

One of the best professors I have ever had. I have been out of his class for 16 years and I still think about the topics we discussed and quote some of the things he told us. I feel lucky to have had him for a prof.

Prof.Crook is a very nice man. Class attendance is not necessary but be careful, discussion is. The only thing that disappointed me in this class is the title of the course. It should have said European Classical music experience because 99% of the class is on European classical music,not of any other country/ genre. Last 3 classes deal with jazz.

Prof Crook was sincerely one of my favorite professors thus far. I loved going to the lectures--they were extremely interesting and entertaining, yet still informative. The tests are a fair test of knowledge of class material and the class is overall VERY fun! YAY PROFESSOR CROOK.

He is very knowledgeable of both music history and his students. His grading is fair. The tests are very hard if one has not done the required reading/listening. Must study on a daily basis to get an A, but getting a B requires minimal studying. Lectures and reading/listening is a must. He is happy to help and very kind.

Looks European(Sorry, just a steorotype~I mean he looks cool, not funny)at the beginning, later I found he is interesting, fond of jazz, and sometimes dances in class. If go to the lecture most of the the time, pretty sure one won't find the exam be difficult.
