Comment:
Took this class thinking it was an aesthetics class (there are 2 versions of this class A and B). Turns out it was the "B" version which was a philosophy of film class. Highly recommended for those interested in cinema and the film as a physical medium. Worked hard, still got a B +. I feel like if I didn't try I would have still gotten a B though.

A great professor who loves what he teaches. Concise and analytical in his theory explanation, with great examples that tie in with the authors we read. Davies is a huge sweetheart-- very accommodating about late work.

The best philosophy prof I've had. Incredibly clear, incisive, and accesible even with tough or dry material. Also: extremely approachable, reasonable, and fair. And a great sense of humour! I highly recommend taking his classes, though be careful as the subject matter itself can be an acquired taste.

Unreal prof. Definitely amazing, inspiring, if you don't have a huge background in phil. take this class! So interesting and challenging. The key to doing well in Phil of Mind is to attend every class and take AMAZINGLY THOROUGH notes. I recommend using your laptop.. too high a risk of missing something w/a notebook. The final is all on lectures.

I really enjoyed this class, even though I've always hated philosophy. Davies is a real character, and he makes it clear and interesting.

Absolutely amazing. I recommend this class to anyone and everyone, Phil major/minor or not. This guy is absolutely hilarious, entertaining, interesting and talks passionately and intriguingly about philosophy. I can hardly contain myself in this class. You can really tell how passionate about and interested in philosophy he is

interesting but difficult course. great funny examples, and spices things up by leaving 3 to 4 buttons undone on the one shirt that he wears every class. Nice.

He's adorable, he's brilliant, he's interesting, and the course content is titillating. Look for the cutest hand gestures and mouth positions in the whole department. And the way he says "Schmain" is charming!

The guy has the famous British sense of humour and does his very best to give fantastic lectures; often has alot of time for student questions as well. It's not his fault Phil of Mind is so dense and can be really dull.

This guy only wears one outfit, has shoulder-length thinning grey hair, and talks about ocelots in philosophy class. And, because it's Montreal, it works. Let's not forget that he's British.
