The class that I took with Dr. Donovan (AS103) was not fun. It was hard, and while that is not unusual, it was also not satisfying. Dr Donovan spends way too much time going over the specifics of assignments when he has everything online already (ie: I want 12pt font... not 13pt and not 11pt) like you're in high school again. I'd wait for jacobs...

Donovan is a pretty cool guy. He knows what he's talking about, though he does his best not to come across as a know-it-all (And he mostly succeeds). He's also really accommodating if you're having issues or if you have questions.

I had a big interest in astronomy going into Donovans class and came out hating going. His class is a lot of work. Tedious exams and quizzes and lots of homework. Also very "my way or the high way" for every assignment. For group project our members went above and beyone and he didnt accept anything. Teaches by failure wkuld describe him well.

Dr. Donovan has a booming voice and is very animated while speaking. If you're at all interested in Astronomy you'll find his lectures riveting. Study for the quizzes because they often consist of a few tough questions.

Not a fan of his. Acts arrogant at times and sorta acts like he "knows it all" at times. He is a very strict grader and doesn't explain things thoroughly. He teaches as if we already know what we are learning. There is a reason why us as students are in this class... it shouldn't have to be learning by failure. Sometimes will be willing to help tho

VERY difficult. My only B- in college. Assigns a TON of homework (on the order of 20-30 hours a week). Exams are ridiculously tedious and difficult. But if you put forth effort, you will pass and you will learn. And he is ALWAYS in his office willing to help and answer questions.

His tests were a little harder than i thought they would be. But he is a very nice who is willing to help you out with whatever questions you have. I struggled with the math portion, since thats my weakest subject, but was willing to help me out step by step and is generally concerned with how his students do. Best teacher i could have hoped for.

I loved Dr. Donovan. I hated physics in high school, but it was completely bearable with him, and even enjoyable at times. Grades are curved, which they're not with Tireman, so I'd recommend Donovan.

Interesting class, his lectures are very clear and organized, but taught too quickly. I got behind and couldn't catch up. The subject matter was too broad--one day we're doing hardcore, the next we're learning a whole new programming language. Seems like a nice guy and willing to help out students, class wasn't for me.

The class lectures were well explained, but the tests were complicated. He is a good teacher but sometimes the tests arent that good, he tests on a lot about a little. A overall difficult class, but the lab was interesting. Thank god for lab grades.
