He was sweet and a pretty inspiring lecturer, but he changes the course expectations often and often seemed confused about his own rules. Very murky stanrdard of grading tbh

Dr. Goldfield is the man. Basically an online class besides the midterm, final, and review sessions. Also, final was not mandatory, only a possible grade boost. Only reason to go to class was if you were in the mood for a good story telling of American History. Only reason he is not 5* is that I was unclear of my grade until right before the exam

only went first day, midterm, final and review sessions all tests and quizzes are online and verbatim from book he gives the prompt and the information he wants talked about on the final and midterm during the review sessions doesn't let you know your grade in the class thought I had an A but I really had a B lectures are super boring and useless

He's an OK teacher, it is mostly an online class because homework and quizzes are done online. The weekly news paper article can get a little boring but they're not that bad. He is a little slack on grading (he doesn't grade assignments for like 2-3 weeks after you turned it in. He'll cancel class quite a bit so check your email. I recommend him.

Goldfield is more if a historian, than a professor who teaches. Attendance not mandatory, everything is on myhistorylab, you have a midterm and final that are essay format, online assignments are easy but tests are difficult, you also have weekly reviews from a newspaper, super easy.

Probably one of the most boring classes ever. I tried paying attention to all of his lectures but always ended up on my phone. He can however be funny once in awhile. He doesn't use moodle so you will never know your grade until the end. Midterm & final are essays. He never gives review sessions, just gives you a broad idea on what they're on.

Easiest class I've ever taken. I went to class only on the first day&for the midterm & final. Tests are all online & there is a website that has all the answers to the tests. The midterm & final is an essay which is super easy, basic topics like slavery or immigration. Something basic that you most likely learned in high school.

This class was one of the worst classes I've ever taken. Everything relating to assignments is done online. There is only a midterm & final which are both essays that are broad questions. He doesn't do any review. If you have to take this course take it with someone else.

Everything is done online. The class isn't interesting & you have to do essays for a midterm & test/final. He says he will do review but he won't. The graduate assistant is most helpful in this class & does all the grading. If you take this course take it with a different professor.

He does everything online & doesn't explain things very well. With the online assignments he only takes the first attempt & you won't know what your grade is unless you ask because he doesn't post them. The grad assistant is the person to go to if you have any questions about stuff since he doesn't explain stuff well.

He is the most boring professor ever. The class is almost completely online work which doesn't even require that you read the book b/c you can retake the quizzes until you get a 100. His grad assistant did all of the grading and the only things we did outside of the online were a midterm, final, and book summary. Midterm and final are broad q's.

The book was extremely hard to understand and we later found out it was graduate level material. He is funny, but sometimes it did seem like what he was saying was very politically incorrect which usually doesnt bother me. You better know what "passive voice" is and know how to not use it! He was very helpful which helped with the 15 page paper!!!

There must be 2 David Goldfields at UNCC.The one I had tried to be funny (I guess ?) but his humor was insulting. He made you buy the new ed. of his book even though the prev. ed. is still pretty new. Other text was WAY too diff. for a soph. class. More people need to comment on this guy so others won't waste their time/money. Take another 2100!

I like history a lot, I mean it's my major, but Dr. Goldfield made this class the most boring ever. I had him for western civ and there were no advantages in taking him. He put me to sleep about every day, and the book for the class was written by him, which means he just wants to make money off of you, but you still have to use it for the hmwk.

First let me say that I love history. Now, this guy is super lame and his lectures are useless. He spends every lecture talking about religion. Don't waste your time going to class this guy is dry, slow, and just doesn't get it. I love history and its unfortunate that I cannot get a decent lecture out of this man. BIG DISSAPOINTMENT.

Dr. Goldfield is the most helpful and kind professor I've ever had. I was out for a large part of the semester due to medical problems. He provides helpful insight on papers and allowed me to take an incomplete when I felt I didn't have enough research done for the final paper. Cancels class often and required few assignments.

Easy A, as long as you can write papers and do online assignments outside of class. You don't have to go to class except when turning in papers, and just do the online assignments when they are due. Definitely an easy A, I never went to class but maybe once a week to make sure assignment dates weren't changed. Got an A, and didnt take the final!

Freakin awesome baby. He never showed up for class so we had off a lot. We had two scheduled tests and then he decided he didn't want to give the second one. Then he said you don't have to take the final if you do not want to.
