Had Dr. Goodson a few years ago. He is such an intellectual that it intimidates you at first. He expects alot out of his students, but it is because he knows you can handle it...and it's really the only way to learn the material. He's tough but fair. He is always willing to help you...just ask.

too smart to be teaching this class. His expectations of students is really high, & he expects you to memorize info after being taught it 5 minutes prior!!

If you had no taken AP Chemistry in your HS, please get away from him. If you had, here is the great class for you to learn chemistry deeper and deeper even that its title is:"Chemistry I", well, his is not.

Super had professor. If CHM doesn't come easy to you do not take him. He always digresses and talked about quantum mechanics. Very Cal bases course so if no background you will not do well. Pulled me aside halfway through semester and told me to drop the course

Very smart professor who is definitely enthusiastic about chemistry. Some of his concepts are a little too complex for a 100 level course, and he occasionally goes off on tangents, but overall, the material is comprehensible.

One of the smartest teachers in the chem department. He is more focused on you understanding the idea then taking it for face value. You must have a strong background in math or you won't be able to keep up. His bark is worse than his bite end grades are scaled 10 points.

Awful, I had to drop out of his class. After the first test (about two weeks in) I didn't do so hot. He straight out told me I shouldnt be in this class. Half of class dropped. Tests were very difficult. If you were a chem major, this class would be okay, but he expects you to memorize tables from the book in a couple weeks. Wouldnt take him again

I passed this class because of the lab TA, not because of Goodson. His requirements are clear, and the TA should provide you with the rest of the information. As long as you have a good understanding of the lab manual before the lab starts and know what to record, you should have no problems writing the reports afterwards.

Lecture part of the lab was boring.. actual lab was run by a TA. Goodson was a bit strange but willing to help during or after class. Knows his stuff and likes when people ask questions because he's not always sure what to talk about. Overall the lab was decent, I'd take him again.

This guy will put you to sleep. I passed by a miracle from the Chemistry god... because there's no way I would've passed by studying alone. He puts stuff that was barely covered in class in his exams. Stay away from this teacher.

Had him a couple of semesters ago...very unhelpful, friendly, yes, but is a chemistry genius. Much more at home in a lab than in a classroom--his nerves show that much is clear, at least.

I agree that he's a tough teacher but he's also very willing to help and answer questions. His material was clear and understandable. Some of the test questions were hard but unless you can't think for yourself you should be able to answer them.

So boring you loose concentration and fall asleep. Homework is very helpful, but even that won't prepare you for his tests. Try with Dr. Yuegang Zuo, he's a much better professor.

He was an average professor. He knew his material, but seemed very nervous all the time. His tests were extremely hard, and covered material he didn't teach.
