Best economics professor ever. Few papers to do, no final exam. The midterm is extremely hard, but you learn a lot from it. A couple of article analyses. Loves sports, and is a big economics nerd as he calls himself. Very cool professor who makes a dry boring material very easy to understand. Truly knows what he is teaching and makes it interesting

EC 391 with Gulley was easily the best class I have ever taken. The material is very comprehensive, interesting and well-presented and the assignments provide a great way to apply these ideas. Plus, he's great at answering questions and really passionate about the subject. I give him and his classes the highest possible recommendation.

If you look up 'awesomeness' in a dictionary, you'll see a picture of Dave Gulley. If you're lucky enough to get a spot in one of his classes, make it count: awesome guy, incredibly intelligent and passionate, and phenomenal professor. And never, under any circumstances, use nominal interest rates to measure the stance of monetary policy. -5!

Gives a ton of work and barely covers stuff on handouts or homework. Has big assignments that take around 10 hours every two weeks and you get 10(5 part) questions for the exam of which he picks three. You have to pay a lot of attention and put in a lot of hours of work to pass. Dont take it with a job or 6 classes!

Passionate and engaged during every class. Course is challenging if you don't have a solid economics background. If you put in the time and pay attention in class you should get A/A- easily. Although material can be tricky and there is a ton of writing, he will take time out and explain any question you have! Top 3 professors I have ever had.

Definitely a challenging professor. He gives the test questions two weeks beforehand, but they take a lot of time to answer (be prepared to spend time with classmates going over the questions as well). You need to take a lot of time to work on the homework, and he expects high quality work. Great professor if you're looking to really learn.

The best professor I've ever had. Yes the class is challenging but Dave makes you want to learn about Macro and I can safely say I have never learned so much in a single class. He gives the test questions two weeks beforehand; definitely spend time with classmates going over the questions and come test time it will be a breeze. 100% take Gulley.

I wish he would worry less about sports teams and focus on teaching the stuff that's on the exam. His lectures are pretty clear, but they just don't cover the material required for the exams and essays. He gives you 14 essay questions, each have like 5 parts, and most you've never covered. Also official assigns stuff only 2 classes before they're due
