Hardest history professor I have ever had. He does nothing but lecture so if you are a visual learner like myself do not take this class. He literally used the projector 2-3 times the whole semester just to show a few pictures. Very old school style of teaching. If you love to listen to your professor do nothing but lecture this one is for you.

Hes rather strict, but hes still an amazing teacher. He explains things so well! Make sure you listen carefully to lectures and study frequently as there is a short quiz each day. Textbook is needed for the summary homework assignments. Tests are long and answers must be detailed. To pass just go to class, pay attention, take notes, and STUDY!

Wonderful teacher! I normally don't like history and don't do well in it but Mr. Hammond made it very easy to understand. His class can be very hard if you do not pay attention and take notes but if you are there for every class and take notes and study it will be a very easy class. Definitely my favorite teacher at Shelton!

I took this class over the summer as a transient student. It was a very easy class. No homework. Only 4 tests, quizzes before every class, and a 10 paragraph paper (about 1-2 pages) due before each test. Take notes on EXACTLY everything he says since he doesn't write anything on the board. If you take notes and study, you will do fine.

If you do not study, this will be the hardest class you ever take. If you study hard, this will be the best class you ever take. I made a 100 on his final and I felt so accomplished. It made him happy, and me happy. Study hard, and you will make yourself feel proud about what you can accomplish. All his test are straight forward.

LOVED Mr. Hammond! He is a great teacher, very knowledgable and does a wonderful job explaining! If you are not going to put in the time to be in class or study, DO NOT take this class, it is necessary that you listen, take good notes, and study daily, his test are completely fill-in the blank, so you must know the material! WONDERFUL CLASS!!!

Mr. Hammond is a great professor. I enjoyed hearing him speak. At first I thought he was gonna be a tightwad and not joke at all, but I was wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed it. He is a very smart man and cracks small jokes along the way. His tests are challenging and you really must know the material. This was good though, because you don't forget it.

Mr. Hammond's class was pretty tough but the content was interesting. I learned more history in his class than I have in the past. He gives lots of quizzes and his tests are challenging. If you come to class everyday and take good notes you will be fine. Don't use your cell phone!!

Although his tests are fairly hard, I loved the class. As long as you're there everyday taking detailed notes and studying you'll have no problem passing ! I made an A on every test because I worked for it ! Also he repeats important things a few times while lecturing MAKE SURE YOU WRITE THOSE DOWN !

Best teacher ever! He is so sweet and his class is always interesting. His test are easy as long as you take good notes during his lectures. He likes people who speak up so always join in on his discussions. I would take his class again just because I liked him so much. He's hilarious, too.

I LOVE Mr. Hammond, one of my favorite teachers. If you are lazy, then don't take his class. You have to work for a good grade. But he is a very sweet man! Take notes and be on time, do not touch your cell phone and he will love you. Tests are all about 70 probs-short answer/essay! I was awful at history before his class and I came out with an A!

I absolutely loved his class. I've had 12 plus years of history and finally I learned something. His class is only hard if you don't come to class and takes notes. The test are straight from the notes. Then easy points from quizzes and participating during class. Mr. Hammond knows what he is talking about and he is a really good teacher.

Great teacher! Test are lengthy but if you come to class regularly and just read over your notes a few nights in advance you should come out with AT LEAST an 85 on evry test.

I LOVED his class! He loves what he does and has an interesting humor! He knows a lot of random facts to keep you interested and he loves it when you ask questions. Don't worry about "Stupid" questions. His test are HARD. STUDY!!!! They are short answer. Memorize your notes. He will NEVER pull a fast ball in tests. Everything is straight forward.
