Soft-spoken, a bit awkward, and ridiculously brilliant. He could be in industry making tons more money, but he chooses to teach instead. Literally wrote the books on some techniques used in class. His classes often move fast, so if you're not good at the material office hours are important (and he's good at explaining things one-on-one).

He really, really, REALLY, knows his stuff. One of the nerdiest profs at Mudd but he will teach you to do magic. Hard classes since he wont just give you the answer. He comes off as distant due to the fact that he is so much smarter than you, but I get the impression that he really cares a lot about Mudd and Mudders.

Who cares if he likes you or not? He's there to teach, not socialze. Very helpful in office hours. And yeah, he's really smart, but who wants to be taught by an idiot? If you pay attention to lecture and do the work, then you shouldn't have any problems.
