This is a lecture based class. Meaning, only what HE says will be covered on tests. Textbook is a waste of money we dont even use it. This profressor is not very good. He expects you to write every single detail he discussed in class on the tests! Which by the way is ALL free response. DO NOT take this class if you value your GPA!

Although he made lectures interesting, if you missed a word or two you are done for. He does not allow many questions, just gets through the lecture. He doesn't seem to care about you not succeeding. Lots of notes. 3 tests and only one make up. I had to drop the class. Would not recommend if you are bad at history.

He only gives you 4 tests and your entire grade is based on them. He grades the tests very harshly, and offers no opportunity to bring your grade up. If you are a history major, you might like him because his lectures are great and he is entertaining to listen to. But anyone who struggles with history stay away.

This is a difficult class and if you don't pay attention you will fail. But his lectures contain everything you need to know and if you take plenty of notes you will pass the class easily. His lectures are very in depth and he's very passionate about the information he's teaching so that makes it much easier to pay attention and really enjoy it.

Great in lectures, he should make a history podcast. But his grading was very harsh and a little inconsistent. He expects the essay on the tests to contain everything he said in class and a little more if you expect to get above a C. If you're majoring in history (or similar) he is probably a great prof, but STEM majors should avoid.

He was a great lecturer, but the tough grading prevented me from getting an A. The test answers must be very specific and contain as much detail as possible. I wouldn't recommend.

Kramer is the worst ever. I would not recommend this class to anyone. I took way over 120 pages of notes and my study guides consisted over 40 pages of notes I had to memorize. I studied very hard and made poor grades. Lecture recording is not allowed, Don't risk dropping your GPA and stay away. Do not mess up on a word or he will count off points.

He makes his lectures so interesting. IT feels as though you're watching the History channel. You have to take very good notes on basically everything he says because his tests are very lecture heavy. The good thing is is that he gives you a study guide before the tests. MAKE SURE YOU STUDY IT THUROUGHLY. LOVED THAT CLASS

Kramers a bit intense as a professor, but I can respect it. I "struggled" at FIRST, but I really came back strong and got an A for the class, lots of good notes and study!! He only will give a recommendation if you take his 1301 and 1302 courses AND in the top 10 percentile, Defintley be worth it and doable. Avail a lot at the Learning Lab, USE IT!

Professor Kramer's class was do-able, but it took way too much time to study for the tests he prepared (at least 8 hours every week). Everything is handwritten on the test. You get 1 essay, 3-4 short answers, and fill-in-the-blanks. This class was too time-consuming for me. ONLY TAKE IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO STUDY.

Even if he was giving amazing lectures, his tests were extremely hard. He is so harsh on grading when he grades your test essay. You have to take good notes in order to pass. Lecture recording is not allowed, and you should study so hard to get an A. Don't risk dropping your GPA and stay away. He can also be so mean sometimes but he is a funny guy.

Professor Kramer is a wonderful professor and subject matter expert. Test questions are in the syllabus. His exams consist of a two page essay, maybe less if you can articulate yourself, along with a few short answer questions. If you enjoy history, you will pass easily. He also requires a 4-5 page essay if you want to receive an A.

You won't be using your textbook. I you skip class, don't attempt to make it up by reading the book. Take extensive notes, as it's lecture-only with very little participation. No extra credit. That being said, the answers to every test are in the syllabus, short answer and essay questions included. No multiple choice, so be sure to study hard!

Need a big journal for this class. Its a lecture class. The 1st day of his class he gives you a syllabus and the syllabus contains the questions on your test! Recommend to study them a week before the test if you dont remember his lectures. In order to get an A you need to write an essay!
