I had a hard time with this class. I myself am not good at the classes where they the professor just throws a powerpoint at you and then you hope for the best. Professor Stone is old and has problems with his hearing sadly. So it is hard to ask questions in class or to communicate with him in general. If you can memorize,then this class is for you.

Course Percent Averages for both of his class sections fell in between D's and F's for Spring Semester of 2014. That say's something about the teacher, not his students. Only a select few received A's on tests. Book never used, powerpoints not available online. Not a helpful teacher at all. Don't take this class with him. Study Guides NOT helpful!

His mini tests are seriously hard. You have to memorize your entire notes to get a good grade on them. The diet reports were easy. He is very picky about essays so grammar check and follow all directions. Book is not needed so save money and do not buy. Go to class and take notes. He is very knowledgeable and his lectures were interesting.

Boring teacher. Tests are 15 question multiple choice but not even the study guide can help you with the test. Book not used. Doesn't go over test answers in class and doesn't give you your tests back. Diet Reports were pointless and tedious. He's pickier than an English teacher when it comes to grading papers. Don't take his class. Waste of time.

Be's a good professor. If you want at least a good grade, go to class and take notes. Answer to quizzes will be straight from the notes. Also he's very picky on his assignments, so follow the instructions and don't procrastinate!!

Seriously passionate teacher. Sweet guy. Extremely knowledgeable and very goofy at times. Explains complex materials very easily, and his power-points compliment that. Like everyone has already said, 10 quizzes total -- which aren't difficult, USE THE STUDY GUIDE --(the last 2 are finals), 2 essays, 2 diet reports. Never used the book. Great class

Class is boring; hot room, mono tone voice, tangents a lot. It's not fun, plus he talks really fast, but just study the study guide and read the chapter in the book because his notes sometimes don't help. Well for me it didn't, i got everything from the book.

He's a great teacher, but you also have to put in some effort and go to lectures and copy the notes because he doesn't post them online. He is always willing to help students during his office hours. Very friendly and approachable. Everything on the exams are in his slides. Would love to have him as a lecturer again in the future.

GO TO THE CLASSES. The class is really easy if you put a LITTLE bit of effort out. He's a good teacher and helps his students. Pretty easy, just go to class and listen to his lectures. You'll be fine. Never used the book by the way.

He has 8 tests, 2 essays and 2 diet reports and a final. His class overall is pretty hard. He offers study guides but his questions are straight from the notes so i just found it easier to just study the notes. VERY HARD CLASS LOTS OF STUDYING

MUST ATTEND LECTURE. take detailed notes and make sure to use the study guides he provides before EACH quiz, very informative. you'll honestly learn a TON. book is not required, it's just a supplement, so don't waste your money. if you do poorly on the first two quizzes, you'll most likely be struggling your way through rest of the class to pass

Dr. Stone uses a lot of powerpoint (take detailed notes); the information that he presents is generally very interesting. He has a 15 question test approximately every 2 weeks (semi-tough)that comes directly from lecture and his study guide(the book is only a supplement). If you want to learn without much work, this class is for you.

A very good teacher! Sticks to the point, very clear. Attendance mandatory just because he gives quizzes right from the PP slides. He is fun and interesting. Opened my eyes to many biases and doctrines in nutrition.

Enthusiastic; keeps the class interesting. Uses powerpoints & all tests come from them (txt book not required). Tests are simple: 15-question multi-choice tests for each chapter. Very helpful and really knows his stuff. Recommended.

Make sure you go to his lectures because he uses powerpoint slides, and copy down all of slides, because there is no way he will send it to you unless you go to his office hours to discuss. There are weekly quizzes, 2pts a question, that you MUST study for. Interesting class, but be prepared for very detailed information.
