Comment:
David Lau is a good Lecturer. However, he made me feel mocked on several occasions when I took his Gender Communications and Field Experience courses during the 1998-1999 school year. I'm not sure if his political views(he seems to be a liberal) clouded his judgment about treating me with fairness or if he just didn't care for me as a person.

How does he have a 4.3 and not a 5.0? How is this not the best rated professor at all of OU? Nicest, funniest, sweetest human being on earth. I wish he taught all my classes forever. I am not a morning person but I loved spending 8AM lectures with him all summer sharing stories in class and doing 3 of the worlds easiest essays ever. Retired now :(

He is truly a unique professor and unlike any I have had before. You can tell that he truly listens to what everyone is speaking about. Public speaking is not an easy subject for most people, but he does make it fun. He tends to be heavy on the poetry, so be prepared for that. Also, you never really know what your grade is throughout the class.

I've **never** had a professor like Prof. Lau. Interpersonal Conflict felt less like a class and more like group therapy. There's no textbook. We all sit in a circle and talk about our feelings. He's a poet, so go in with that in mind for papers. Attend class and participate, easy. The only negative, you won't know your grade until he posts it.

Professor Lau is great! I have taken him multiple times throughout college and highly recommend taking him. You will write a good amount of papers but they are all relatively short and are based off of your own life experiences. You really gain connections with your classmates in his classes. Great professor as well as a great guy in general!

The key: give it your all in each writing assignment that is due before class. If you give your best, in depth, deep thoughts, you will have no problem getting a good grade. Participation isn't required, but, it does have an effect on your final grade because he notices if you're absent. Lau cares about each story told. Don't be afraid to speak up.

Professor Lau is awesome! His classes really make you think and get a lot of good discussion going. No tests and attendance wasn't required. Assignments were vague but he's an easy grader. My only problem is that I never knew what my grade was.

My biggest complaint is that at any point, I had NO idea what my grade was. We didn't have normal assignments that were graded. Technically only allowed 3 absences but I don't think he kept track. Sat in a circle and talked every day. Easy class overall. Minimal work/effort. Lau is vague and class was unstructured, but most people love him.

Lau is an amazing Professor. Performance COM with him is a breeze, there are no tests, quizzes, or papers to write. All you have to do is perform something each class. But come prepared. He truly is a poet, and loves when you get into your performance. He is a wonderful man, you should take a class of his every chance you get!

This class entails 60 hours community service plus tons of chapter assignments and journal entries. Teacher bases grades on TA's grades. Very frustrating. Work your butt of and get must less than then expected grade.
