Do ALL his reader problems. Try to get his practice tests from the previous years as he pulls them for the midterms he will use in the current years. Great professor overall though, really cares about his student but getting an A was a bit difficult.

Honestly my favorite prof I've ever had. He really cares about your learning not just about getting through slides. Was sad when this class had to end.

Has a reader that has an insane amount of practice problems and he goes over how to do them in lecture. Do all of his reader problems and it's a pretty easy A.

He's a good man and he really does love genetics, but he isn't a very good professor. His lectures are incredibly convoluted, and I almost always walked out of a lecture more confused than I was before. He writes note on the board in stream of consciousness, so don't expect to understand anything you write down. Tests are easy if you do problems.

He's not very organized so I did not find the lectures helpful. His reader was very useful!

I don't like genetics that much but Low really is a good teacher. He explains concepts very well and tests are based on the reader problems. Not too hard, just do the problems.

Amazing professor! Wants students to do well in his class and goes out of his way to make sure that happens. As long as you do the reader problems you will do great! Many of the questions from the reader are on the midterms and even the final! On top of being a great professor he is also very attractive!

He was very nice but his lectures went over my head. The reader has so many mistakes in it, it's hard to take it seriously. If he asks you to explain a concept, you are basically screwed. The textbook is useless don't buy it, you don't need it at all.

Dr. Low is the definition of a MAN! Not only is he the sexiest professor at UCSB, but he's also a geneticist. He is very helpful during office hours, and in class. Everything he wants us to know is in his reader, and takes questions right out of it.

David Low the sexiest professor i have ever had at UCSB. That's why I didn't mind this class at 8 am. He gives you all the problems you need to know for tests, so as long as you know how to do those his tests are cake. You don't need the book, just get the reader which is ~$25.

I didn't understand anything from this class. He teaches the class like we should know everything already. He is so all over the place and doesn't explain concepts well. Ya, he's willing to help but you should be able to learn from the lectures and I definetly did not feel that way.

His lectures are a little hard to understand, but if you go home and read through the reader and the book you will understand it. Going to CLAS definately helps to clarify some material. He is an awesome teacher and tries his best to help students. His tests are fair, the first test is easy and the second is harder than the final.

1st of all, the prof is over 50 and definitely not hot, but his 8 am class was the best biology class I've ever taken and I respect him more than any other professor on campus. If you know the reader problems, you shouldn't have trouble getting an A in the class. You only need the textbook if you didn't understand the information from class.

This class is cake if you just memorize the reader problems. The only thing that sucked was the fact that it was at 8am, honestly just to stare at him was motivation enough to go. I realize that was a lurpy coment but he's super hot.

Awesome prof. Practice problems! He can be a little bit all over the place in lecture but he generally will try to clarify the concepts. He can be tricky on some test questions but he is pretty straight forward. Go see him in office hours early because a line tends to form quickly!
