I took several classes with Dave in my undergrad days, including an independent study in video editing. He helped me produce my first major short film while still in school, and has helped me in my job search and in getting into graduate film school. Plus, he's always made himself available for a chat when possible. Truly one of UT's gems.

Dave truly loves every single one of his students and I have heard several stories of what students who graduated several years ago are doing, so he doesn't forget you. This man has become like a second father to me while away at school.

Dave is one of the best professors on campus...He goes out of his way to be accessible and make material clear. He's a genuinely nice guy who tries his best to make class exciting. He even feels guilty if he keeps you in class too long!

I've never had a professor who's more eager to work with you, explain things in detail, or cares more about what he's teaching. He feels guilty if he thinks the class is not stimulating enough. If you love lectures, don't enroll in Dave's classes.
