A tough grader, but if you do well you know that you earned it. I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures although they will not relate much to the reading, they will still be relevant. You are tested on both the lectures and the reading. He really knows what he is talking about and I very much so enjoyed his teachings. Be prepared to read 40 pages a week!

If you think you should take this class with this professor, I reccomend you dont do that. Do yourself a favor and just injest an entire psych textbook because this class is pretty much the same thing.

Only take his class if your life absolutely depends on it. No teaching is done, and he lectures more on his bland personal life than anything else. If you don't memorize his inane slides or aren't able to regurgitate the book verbatim, you'll fail with flying colors. If you don't hate this man on sight, you will before the semester is over.

He doesn't lecture on any of the book material. His lectures are full of trivia and irrelevant information generally absent from the test. If it wasn't for participation points, showing up to class would be pointless. The class is essentially self-taught.

If you are considering taking him, then dont. Avoid at all costs. Gives lots of extra credits but only has a limit on the total amount you can have even if you do all of them. Tests are super hard and dont really pertain to anything read in the textbook. He will not give you a study guide (even for the final) He also has quizzes before class.

His tests didn't ask about the main ideas, only the small facts that don't really matter. Sure, he does a magic trick at the end of class, and even brought his dog in one day, but if you don't read the chapters word-for-word, you won't do too well on the tests. Luckily, he gives extra credit, otherwise I don't know how I would've passed the class.

Dr. Palmiter is one of the most underrated professors at Marywood. He exemplifies all the good qualities a college instructor should have. What I appreciated most about him is that at the end of the last lecture he said, Im not done with you until youre done with me. He is available to his students outside of class for help, mentoring, etc.

I vastly enjoyed taking Palmiter's class. The man is deeply inspired by his work and that made going to class so enjoyable. You do have to work hard for a good grade and I wish tests were focused more on larger issues in the class, but I would highly recommend taking a class with him if you want to learn a ton about psychology.

He has you read 3 chapters for each test but doesn't lecture about anything retaining to the readings. He gives insanely hard tests on random facts from the chapters rather than the big ideas. He fails to give any guidance as to whats on the test. if you don't know the readings or his lecture verbatim, you'll fail. if you have him, RIP

Child Psychopathology was a very interesting class despite the obnoxious man teaching it. He will lower your grade even if you are in the hospital, be aware he expects your life to be HIS class!

Learned more material in this class than I will ever be able to remember! Fair teacher, does not give grades away, makes you earn them. Not sure when it became such a bad thing to be a good professor...

Thank goodness he's going on sabatical. I've heard the horror stories. As long as I can go through the next years 2 w/out him and his spineless sidekick Dr. Cannon, I think I might actually get an education.
