Such a helpful teacher. The tests can be pretty tough, but you can take each test twice and he basically drops the lowest score. Six assignments, most are pretty easy. One big project, make sure you start it ahead of time as all the options require a lot of work. He also offers a ton of extra credit. Answers e-mails and grades quickly. Sweet guy.

Professor Pierce is a very kind and helpful professor. He is always quick to answer emails and help you if you need it. I took his online class unfortunately I struggled with it just because the tests were pretty hard. Not a lot of work in general, a fair amount but the tests are really hard and make up most of your grade.

Professor Pierce's class is not hard. Listen to what he says and do all the practice exams to study for the exams you have every three weeks. He is very passionate and knows what he is talking about. Put the time into this online class and you will learn a lot!

I took astro 20 online, he is so picky about everything. If your emails aren't signed he will not accept them. The tests are hard, even though you study. I wish I seriously dropped this class.

Took his online class; he's still very helpful. He drops some hints here and there about tests, his practice quizzes make up 95% of the exams, and he's genuinely interested in the subject. Also offers a great deal of extra credit; take advantage of it.

Easily the best class I had all semester. The online course was fun, easy (though it does require work), interesting, and the non-mandatory meetings are great just to go to. Prof Pierce knows his stuff, is retired, so he teaches just because he likes to, not because he has to. Take it if you need the units!

I dont understand how people can not pass this class. He is a very very helpful and clear professor. GO TO THE TEST REVIEWS! Without them the tests are much more difficult. Took online class..only 7 assignments, 3 tests, final, and observation project. Offers lots of extra credit. The test do take studying but are managable. Great professor.

I really enjoyed this class! The tests are relatively easy if you do the reading (plus you get two tries). Pierce is very responsive and helpful - always giving Xtra Credit opportunities. You can tell he teaches because he is passionate about his field and hopes you come to feel the way. I would defninitely take him again.

Online class. Amazing. keeps you busy but not hard. Read the info. Gives you study notes, and practice test, it can't get any easier. Not to mention a lot of extra credit. Test is what you put into it. This class is truly up to you when it comes to the grade. Projects are interesting. Always gets back to you quickly when you have questions

Dr. Pierce is an awesome teacher;however, he is holds a P.H.D. in Science and is not able to grade on a curve for dumb@ss. He gives a lot of room for extra credit. Start your observation project early. Show up for the In class sessions. Do the Sunset observation. I got an A.

Great teacher! Very helpful. Enthusiastic about subject and makes you enthusiastic, too. You have to study, but he is very clear about what will be on tests. Just use study notes and take practice tests. He also offers a lot of extra credit. Would definitely take again.

lets just say by the end of the semester there were less than 10 people left. he is incredibly hard on physics students and is very anal about homework. no hints for tests and they are very difficult, if you are a C student take someone else.
