Comment:
Romanelli is very detached and has explicitly stated in class several times that he does not care. He is not concerned about our success in the class and his irritated/angry attitude discourages participation in class and makes him very unapproachable. Tests were absurdly hard and over content that was not taught in class. Would not take again

Extremely cynical? Check. He expects a lot because he believes his students are capable of handing in good work. He is very vague as to what he wants but grades as if he handed out specific outlines. This professor is very smart and pushes students abilities. He is uncomfortable to approach and not as helpful as he should be for this type of class.

I enjoyed the class. It helped improve my public speaking confidence a lot and organization a little more. A no-nonsense guy. Always come 5 min early, brownie points for if a deadline later. Asks about obscure specific things he referenced in lectures, write whatever examples he uses, it will be on the test. Gum and tardiness are a sins.

arrogant, condescending. makes generalizations about students. discursive lectures. i am a cynic myself but this man crossed the line--he is bitter to the point of plain unplesantness. personality contradicts the material he teaches. I like the group project but not the lectures. do not expect a good grade on anything.

If you like structure in your classes do not take Romanelli. The assignments were graded harshly even though he was never clear about exactly what he wanted. He would not offer us resources to reference in order to become more clear about assignment expectations. I NEVER KNEW WHAT TO STUDY FOR TESTS

Don't understand the comments on here. He's hilarious, a bit sarcastic, but crystal clear with what he expects from students. Even though class was at 8:30 it kept me awake. Tests are difficult but there are lots of opportunities for free points (10 short case studies, 2 emails, 2 memos, an interview, small group project, and 3 exams not cum.)

Hilarious. He uses humor to engage students, witty, if you're intelligent enough to pickup on it.Typically 1 long paper for his classes, clear instructions, 3 exams broken up in 5 chapters ea. Given opportunities to ask questions THROUGHOUT semester about final paper.Persuasion is an amazing class and David R. is a god among men. Plus hot coco

This guy is great. He has a really strong personality, but i love it. He's really dry, sarcastic but he knows what he's talking about. He grades kinda hard but he gives you chances for extra credit. Have to do 10 homework assignments, midterm, final and 8-10 page paper. The stuff we cover in class is really interesting.

Really awesome guy, terrible class. He's hilarious if you appreciate dark, dry, pessimistic humor. His directions for assignments are always mindblowingly vague, though, which makes getting a good grade kinda difficult. Tests come straight from the book, so buy it, read it, and love it. Just do everything according to the text and you'll do fine.

Romanelli is very funny and entertaining, however, this class is very challenging, as a freshman i felt overwhelmed. The material is really difficult and he grades harsh on papers and tests. Attendance is really important-notes from lectures are necessary for tests. Honestly i recommend a different professor if you want to both learn and do well.

Worst class I've taken at Loyola. He is sarcastic and not as funny as he thinks he is. The material is boring and he doesnt do anything to make it better... he talks way too much. tests are all based on notes... with good notes theyre easy tests, but its hard in class to decide what notes to take...

As a person, he is funny and sarcastic with good stories. As a professor he is terrible. I have been to ever class, I take notes, read the book, and still am getting a bad grade. Office hours don't help much either. It may just be me, but I think he has a lot to do with why am I failing. He's alright to take, but if you have a choice don't take him

The good: he's pretty entertaining most of the time and he knows what he's talking about. You can also get a ton of easy points in that class. The bad: Isn't helpful at all if you approach him outside of class. Very condescending for someone teaching a BS subject.

If you have a sense of humor, you will love him. He's random & very sarcastic, but it offers entertainment to a dry subject. You definitely need to read/do the homework to keep up. He likes to relate the readings to personal stories or modern things (Harry Potter is a popular one). If you don't like sarcasm, don't take the class; otherwise, ENJOY.

I loved Romanelli's class! He was sarcastic, funny, insightful, opinionated, engaging, and taught you a lot without even realizing you learned anything at all. His class was very valuable and I suggest you take it if you're interested in learning about communication!

Class was fun and easy at first. However, it got more complicated with more theories covered. Romanelli was funny and laid back but sometimes can come off as rude. Office hours were pointless. He was decent though. Not a terrible option to take as a professor.

The WORST professor that I have EVER had and I am a senior! He is pompous, arrogant, rude and annoying. He does not care about his students and is more concerned about telling stories about how great he is. He grades based on how he is feeling that day and tends to grade very difficult on his tests. DO NOT TAKE HIM! Trust me!
