Comment:
The professor does not use any of the formulas mentioned in the powerpoint slides. Instead uses excel to solve every problem. The lecture are not self sufficient and the homework, lectures and exams are completely unrelated. This course can be aced only if you study on your own. The prof doesn't help at all. Ridiculous experience.

Actually, the content of this class is very easy for me. However, I still wanna give a very low score for him because his homework is really foolish. You can not imagine that the questions always miss some important words or state confusedly. Due to this, you can always get low points. I try to ask him but there are too many questions like this.

This is a very difficult class. It feels easy at the beginning, after few chapters, the quality of powerpoint straightly goes down, NO EXAMPLE QUESTION, ONLY THEOREM, NO EQUATIONS. Sometimes the HW questions and solutions have lots of errors(not explained clearly). Tricky exam(long and hard with short time), the average is usually between 65% to 75%.

He doesn't announce when quizzes will be very well. He just assigns them on blackboard and it could be a weekend and you wouldn't bother looking till Monday so don't be lazy about checking blackboard often. The group project was confusing. Exams are tough, but read the book and watch lectures and you will be fine.

Worst teacher ever! exams are tough, only gives 15 minutes to spend quizzes online, tons of homework. Paid not for online class but ended up exactly the same as online class. I don't have any words to describe anymore!

With out any prior knowledge of programming this class was really hard. My advice is make friends with people who understand the material to help you get through. He is a cool guy but does not know how to teach very well.

He is a genius. That said, he expects a lot. The class starts of slow, but the middle of the semester is hell. 20 hours a week at points...on one program. He gives out way too hard of homework and labs compared to his easy examples. A lot of self-teaching. However, I admit I did learn the most from this class. Stick with it. Half our class dropped.

great prof, really knows the materials, the lectures are good. he is a successful businessman so his perspective on many things things that are going on in the real world is very worth listening. The course is actually not hard, maybe because i learned java before, but i truely enjoy the class and learn a lot of things.

He is a very intelligent guy, but when it comes to teaching he could make it a little clearer. Pay attention in class and don't wait till the night before to start the homework. Many of the assignments are quite difficult but if you do them and try to understand the tests and quizzes aren't that bad.

His examples are simply amazing. They make sense and are relevant to the present economic scenario. I'd rather call this class "Wealth Management for engineers". He gives personal examples of his own experiences with investments and how made a ton of money.

Does not go over HW or lab. Assumes too much. Is ALWAYS too busy with his other "job" to really care about students. Does even really know how to program himself. If you are new to programming and taking this course... Pray...

His lectures are very long and drawn out. The man loves to hear himself talk. I would definitely suggest taking Engr 160 instead. You would be better off. His tests are graded very hard, and assignments were sometimes impossible to figure out. Save yourself hours in the lab and try to switch.

He just simply read through the slides. Kinda boring in class. But not hard to get an A. Exams computation questions are very similar to the homework and in class quizzes.

This professor is by far one of my favorite yet. The content of the class itself (the way the book teaches it) is fairly boring, but the REAL WORLD situations that the professor uses to compare are amazing. I really, really like this guy!

He is a great guy with a great story, but he teaches way too fast. It is really not as much Sly as it is IE 148. AVOID THIS CLASS ...unless it is required for you.
