David Smith was an average teacher. He is all about the math. I ended up with a 79.6 in his class and he would not round it up to a 80, even though I improved on the last tests and worked my but off on the final. I emailed him back and forth and he still refused to give me the B. Do not take him.

Dr. Smith was a great professor. He's enthusiastic about what he teaches and tries to lighten the mood when the class zones out. He gives speed drills, quizzes, and tests. Speed drills and quizzes are easy, tests are a mix of multiple choice (8 answer choices) and free response, and they're difficult. Despite that, I would definitely take him again

Dr. Smith is an excellent professor. He is very knowledgeable about the courses. He lectures very well, and you will be fine if you take good notes and pay attention. He has tough exams, but if you study and know your stuff, you should understand it! I recommend him, hes awesome!

Great and straight forward professor, gives homework but isn't graded. 3 Tests plus the final. Has quizzes that cover material leading up to tests, and "speed drills" over previous topics. Gives partial credit wherever he can. The more difficult problems on the tests are questions from the homework. Definitely would recommend!

Suggests homework problems to do. Do them. Answers any questions you have both in class and out. Will do as many example problems as you need. Wish he would teach Calc2 as well.

Nice guy. Make sure you pay attention in class. If you don't show up, you wont learn. He doesn't go over some things we need for Calc 2. Gives a total of 4 test. gives homework but doesn't grade.

Cool guy. makes stuff easy and gives partial credit in exams. Wish he would have made homework mandatory so i wouldnt have slacked as much but thats my fault. If you know your stuff or are good at math youll do well if not you probably shouldnt be doing a major that requires calc. Some complained, but calc can be tricky no matter who teaches it

Smith only gives out four tests (including the final) and four quizzes. He gives homework problems from the book, but he doesn't grade it nor gives points for it. You should still do them for your own benefit. He has a very unique grading scale for his tests that can either benefit or really mess up your grade.

Honestly one of the hardest and most confusing professors I have ever had. He got frustrated when I asked for help more than once, and expects you to put more work in than any other class. He is unclear on what will be on the exams, and uses super confusing terminology when you ask him to explain things. DO NOT TAKE HIM if you struggle with math.

He's a great professor, and even better guy. Doesn't require you to do the homework, but you need to do it if you want to do well on the tests. Very willing to help after class/during office hours. Tests are tough, but he doesn't give you problems he hasn't already shown you how to work. Best professor at Tech.

He's one of the best professors I've ever had. He gives back the test very quickly, which is nice. His lecture was clear and informative. If you do all the problems he assigns, and do some of his old exams, you will get an A for sure.

The insturctor David Smith is very nice person, but his tests are very hard. Also, he always recommand to review his old exams, but he does not bring the similar questions from the old exams. Don't take his class.

Idk what everyone else is talking about. I just took him for calc 1 and he doesn't let you use a cheat sheet and he doesn't take up homework. He has 3 tests, a final, and speed drills. The tests are really difficult but he posts several previous tests so study those cause it's very similar. I never did the homework but probably should have.

He was a good professor. He lets you use an 8" by 11" cheat sheet on each exam. As long as you have the material needed on your paper, you should be fine. He is very helpful and approachable. He goes fairly slow. It's practically impossible to do poorly in this class.

Shows you step-by-step how to do problems. If you have questions she will work the problem and try to explain it easier. Usually lets class out early the day before homework is due in case people have questions.

Quite an amazing professor. He taught examples from the book then did his own, more challenging ones to help formulate a deeper understanding of the material. He always assign homework, but never takes it up. But I strongly recommend doing them because his quizzes and tests will contend some sort of the homework in it. He also has online material.

Dr. Smith is an excellent teacher! I had him for the second semester of Stats w/ Excel. Explains things VERY well. Gives some quizzes online you can take over and over (20%). We had 4 lab homeworks (20%) and 3 tests (20% ea). Gave us study guides for topics. Gives partial credit where he can and is very fair.

This was my favorite class this semester. I know him pretty well, and he explains things pretty well. He'll just about never give you the answer to a question, but he will always help you find it and he gives good hints.

He barely explained what he was teaching, and when someone would ask a question, he would pretty much move onto the next topic. He had very few tests, and assigned homework that had hardly any impact on your grade.
