Comment:

Probably the worst lecturer I've had in the physics department so far. It felt like he wanted to go back and teach grad level stuff the entire time. Exams are free though. He literally tells you everything that's on them. Chegg+grouping up for assignments will get you an A. It'll just be more work than you'd expect for a lab.

Comment:

His lectures go way too deep into solid state theory that does not help an undergrad learn how to build circuits. My peers that stopped going to lecture did better than me by the end of the semester. His expectations were insanely high for an entry level electronics course. We started with resistors and ended with CPUs to give a scope of the class.

Would rate 0 if I could. He is awful. He asks multiple choice questions worth up to 15 points, no partial credit! The final was IMPOSSIBLE (53% avg). Gives homework and "practice problems" but the exams are not comparable to his homework or practices. There's extra credit so that and excessive studying saved me. Was not a big curve if any. AVOID!

Not a bad lecturer, but unfortunately the examples he talked about in lecture were rarely on exams. Midterm exams weren't that bad for a physics class, however the final was impossible. He offers extra credit which helps, but I consistently was at the average or slightly above and still ended up with a C.

Comment:

Hated him. He likes to focus on concepts during lecture so about 50% of his exam questions are in-depth concepts. Homework and quizzes are all plug and chug but exams look completely different. Averages for the Mid terms were about 65% but the final was absolutely impossible 53% avgerage . If you can, take someone else and save yourself.

Dr. Snoke is very knowledgable and very accessible outside of class if you ever need any help. Tests were fair for a course that is naturally difficult for most people. Extra credit was offered so be sure to do it in order to stay ahead of the curve. Difficult final.

If you're planning on taking Dr. Snoke anytime after 2015, you should note that he has changed many of his policies and made his exams a LOT easier than in the past. SO, you can ignore manyof the comments below. He still isn't the greatest lecturer but it's not too hard of a class

The most horrible teacher you could ever imagine having. He seems to think he is on a higher level than everyone else and talks down to you. If you take him, get ready for not your life in general to get worse. Completely avoid him at all costs unless you want to rethink your existence on this planet.

Literally the worst professor I can imagine having. His lectures have less clarity than listening to a handful of mud make gurgling noises. He has no understanding of his students. He is so boring and just drains the energy of the class with his senile wanderings. Blames low grades on students' idiocy rather than his own shortcomings as a teacher.

He is just like any other physics professor. The concepts are unclear in class, and the only way to understand is through recitation and practicing homework problems. The exams are pretty difficult, but they are difficult for everyone, so there is usually a pretty good curve at the end of the semester.

How. Just how. I got a 4 on AP mechanics without studying in high school, and just watching him teach was a slow motion train wreck. He only uses powerpoints instead of working out proofs and example problems. The class is disorganized, and if it weren't for my TA, I would have done much worse. Got an A-, Snoke is legendarily bad.

Nice guy, horrible teacher. Lectures were boring, he contradicted himself, and was proven wrong by students. Unfortunately Pitt's entire physics department is sub-par, so avoid him, but you probably won't find a prof that's much better.

Not a good professor. Focuses more on himself than the needs of undergraduates. Pretentious, preachy, boring, and distasteful. I do not recommend him.

This guy should not be allowed to teach. Every class is the same - derive a formula and then show an demonstration. Problem is that the formula and the demo have nothing to do with the quizes and tests. Homework is often on things you never seen. Do yourself a favor and don't take him. Avoid at all costs.
