Helpful during office hours, really helps you to actually understand the material. Quizzes are hard, but not ridiculous. Kind of arrogant, though...

Statman is excited to teach, even when you aren't excited to learn. Case studies are the main difficulty, which involve absurd topics, and little help. Tough on writing style, even good math work gives to poor APA writing. Readings make the class easier and the warm ups require a bit of thought. Quizzes are hard.

He is an AMAZING physics professor but a so-so chem professor. He is especially helpful during office hours. He asks you questions to help you rethink the problem instead of giving you the answers and this is helpful in learning the concepts of physics. He is challenging but you know you've learned from him in the end and it's worth it.

Prof. Statman makes you work very hard for your grade. If you do the warm-ups and follow the problems he gives you, you can earn a good grade. Quizzes are hard, but if you study they are not as bad as others claim. I learned so much from this class, and he is so nice and so very helpful!

Worst professor for chem. Doesn't explain anything and only gives page numbers in the text book as notes. Be prepared to fail every quiz and then be lectured at about failing.

Professor Statman is a nice, extremely helpful man. However, his class is very confusing (especially if you don't remember much chemistry from high school). If you don't have a burning love for chemistry, I recommend that you avoid this class like the plague.

Professor Statman forces you to learn, and that's great. As a planned Chemistry major, I will need to understand these concepts, and I feel as though I do now. He stresses the CHEMISTRY not the math, and in a chemistry class, that's a good thing to stress. I feel better prepared for the pursuit of my major having taken his 112 class. Take him!

He's a good professor, although his style of teaching will throw you off at first. He's always more than happy to stop and go over things in class, and is especially helpful during office hours. However, he does come off as bit of a crazy person.

You won't do well in this class unless you are willing to put in a lot of work. If you are, this will be one of the best classes you've ever taken. Based a lot on learning the material yourself, he basically guides us through the learning. The method works so well that I've never had to study for any of the exams and still get an A on all.

His style of teaching is "teach yourself and if you can't, ask your group members" so it's very different than what most are used to but it actually works very well though it's not easy but you learn the material better than if he just told you. It helps you develop thinking skills. He keeps the material interesting and the labs are fun.

I didn't personally like him, because he gives graded assignments before he gives us notes in class, and I don't learn well like that. He really tried to help me do well. So I think that he's a good guy, just not as good of a professor.
