Comment:
Provides the most unclear instruction in my entire university experience... Lab topics did not align with concepts learned in lecture - need to self-study the concepts in lab manual to understand the experiments. Assignments released at the end of the term (2/3 assignment in last 2 weeks) - overall, very stressful class with a very heavy workload.

Other ratings on here are pretty accurate. His lectures/notes are sometimes unorganized, but they're meant for you to organize them as you write them down to drill it in. Although its a 200 level course, don't be fooled, its a ton load of work and most students are 3rd year. Otherwise, tests are fair (work fast!) and his jokes are odd but funny

Ugh, what a disaster. His lectures are terribly disorganized, which is made worse by the fact that his notes are absolutely barebones. Goes off tangents a lot, and seems to enjoy cracking weird jokes that nobody gets, then claim it's "British humour". Luckily the textbook is well written, and I practically taught myself the entire course from it.

I think he's a great professor! I love how he makes really blank notes and makes us fill stuff in during class. They're really nice notes. However, he doesn't post the pdf files before hand. All in all, he's nice and down to earth guy. Explains pretty well concepts!

He’s a nice, approachable guy and he is pretty lenient with dealing with lab matters. But that’s all. Lectures are disorganized...notes are sometimes posted after lectures, he assumes more previous knowledge than indicated by the course perquisites. And there is no one to go to for help, no review sessions, very few office hours, and the TA knows a

Excellent prof, clear and easy to understand. Very fair marking. Approachable person. Tutorials for this class were very poor, and the TA had very little knowledge of chemistry.

very dry lectures; I think he conducts his lectures based on the fact that he just LOVES to hear himself talk by using long, sentences with complex words. Make sure you read the text because his notes are very incomplete. Tests are pretty hard. He is very accommodating with conflicts.

This course is fun, you get to do lots of hands-on experiments. Prof Stone is excellent at his job. He's also very helpful in resolving lab conflicts, unlike so many other profs who often give you a hard time when you go to them.

I think he was excellent. A lab course, if you had conflicts or questions he was READILY available to help you find answers or even re-do the lab! Marking was fair and lecture material was fundamental concepts of laboratory instrumentation. A course for CHM maj/spe, very practical & I higly recommend it. Taking the 3rd year continuaton now!
