Mr. Tarnoff is my favorite professor that I have had at ETSU so far! I feel like, since 2150 sort of follows 1900, if I would've had him for 1900 then that class would have been 100 times easier. He provides ample materials for studying for exams, and has the best and most descriptive lectures you could ask for!

One of the best professors I have ever had! I highly recommend taking his classes when they are an option. I had him for computer org and I don't think many people could make such a boring topic as interesting as he did. He feels bad because he thinks he is boring you, but if you really pay attention I promise you will love his classes!!

A lot of students like Tarnoff. He is very relate-able and you can tell he works hard to present himself that way. Teaching is great, tests are fine. Not too streesful but not a breeze either. His class inspired me to pursue some electric circuit building. Would recommend.

Tarnoff is the man. His server side course is not easy but you will learn the material if you want to make an A. He gives little extra credit, but if you work hard you will do well.

Tarnoff is a great professor and person. I took him for multiple classes throughout my stay at ETSU. His iOS class set me on a professional career path. He was also a fantastic advisor. I would recommend taking as many of his classes as you can. He is not a classically trained programmer and honestly, it's a nice change.

Probably the best teacher in the department. Very helpful, tries to bring a bit of humor to otherwise dry material. Willing to take time out of class to explain complex concepts 5 different ways if necessary. If you get the chance to take a Tarnoff class, do it.

Great teacher! Usually keeps things pretty interesting in class. Doesn't take attendance, but I would recommend going anyways. There are very few assignments throughout the semester.. tests are easy if you look over the old sample tests he posts!

I enjoy his class. Tests are easy if you study the provided study guides (ie. previous years tests). Quizzes are sometimes tricky but are rather straight-forward. He makes jokes about computers to keep the material interesting. Great guy!

He is an absolutely stellar teacher. Very clear about what he expects and doesn't mind taking time out of class to help with work. Reasonable and keeps lectures at least somewhat interesting with stories. Took him for 1250 and 2150 and he is my favorite CSCI professor.

Fantastic professor. Has a lot of experience in the hardware field, and it shows. Really knowledgeable and yet relates extremely well to students. Interesting even when teaching extremely dry material. Self-admitted obsession with NAND gates not a detriment. Wish he taught more courses so I could take him every semester.

David "NAND gate" Tarnoff is awesome teacher. Although I found the subject interesting to begin with, he makes the subject as interesting as possible to the rest of the class. He integrates real world applications into his teaching. Looking over the old tests was helpful, so make sure and do that. Quite humorous too.
