Don?t ever take this teacher! Picks class favorites and if you aren?t one to kiss butt then you might as well move on.Lecture is so redundant that you could not be a college student and purchase the book and learn more than he teaches!Took three hours to go over his syllabus if that tells anything! Horrible teacher!!!!!!!!!!

Great teacher, knows his stuff. He is very straight forward and lets you know what to expect. i passed the class but i really put allot of effort into it. if you do not like to listen to lectures and read and study, he will not be the professor for you. very nice person well organized and extremely helpful if you need it. 2 exams and a paper.

You will sit and take several pages of notes for the entire 2 hours and 45 minutes of class. He really likes to talk about himself and all of his political views. He knows his stuff, but he should be teaching political science. Tests are hard, research paper is not that bad.

chief thompson is an awesome person. although i can't say the same for his teaching style. he seems to go off on tangents and his power points are verbaitum from the book. his tests were way too detailed (percents and such). but overall, if you go to class you'll learn somthing and do ok on his exams.

Chief Thompson is the bomb! He is so interesting and tells lots of great personal stories. He wants you to do well. Must read the chapters in the book. Don't expect to get out a minute early, but he's really cool. I'd definitely take him again. You'll do 1 paper and 1 oral presentation on the paper you do, but it isn't too bad.

He is an EXCELLENT teacher. He is very clear in what he wants, and even breaks down the research paper he wants you to write into sections. He tells you exactly what he wants and is very helpful in all aspects. I truly felt like he cared about me as a student and person. The test were okay, must study. Powerpoints VERY helpful and he's hot!!!!

Prof. Thompson is a very good professor. He's a police chief, so he actually knows what he's talking about (and loves to share examples!). To do well, you should go to class--he'll keep you there the whole time, and there's lots of notes . . .but he tries to keep it interesting. I didn't do the readings, and I got by . . .I'd take him again!

Great teacher, very helpful. I see a lot of people complaining about how long his classes are, but when you sign up for a 3 hour class, you should expect to be there for 3 hours. And as for the reading, he expects you to learn something from his class, there is no free ride! Overall, I'll be taking as many of his classes as I can!

lots of reading, never lets you out a minute early. tests dont follow readings. Issues to much reading for anyone to complete. Newspaper articles arent graded by a scale, yet by his opinion. i recommend someone else

if you can read over 100 pages a night you will like this class. readings were way to unreasonable. no one could keep up. newspaper articles are not graded fair, and arent assigned clearly. powerpoints all night every night. could be interesting, but very unreasonable assignments.
