Evolution of the Blues was fun and interesting. Whillock knows his stuff and knows students have other classes besides his. We could turn stuff in days later and still receive full credit. Also, graded papers easy. Test were all essay, but he was pretty leaninent on the answers. Take him if you can.

History of Film was way too hard to be a 1000-level course. The grade is made up of 4-5 exams and 5 papers, so not much opportunity to do well unless you study a lot for the exams. You have to read the textbook to do well on exams and pay attention in class. Long notes and lectures. Interesting class and good professor though.

He is very difficult as a professor. He is a great individual and a good teacher. If it's possible I think he may be just too passionate about his subject. He will go on random rants about other things, and then come back to the topic at hand. His tests are way out of left field and questions very often just seem random.

This professor is extremely nice and an incredible person. However, his tests are amazingly difficult, and contacting this professor outside of class besides e-mail is more difficult than just dropping by. I love film and I loved going to this class, and learning the material. I still however made a D.

Whillock is a haus. His lectures are interesting and humorous and he has great stories and film clips interspersed throughout the class to keep you entertained. From what I've heard, he's way better than the other Intro to Film teacher. The labs are worthwhile and he's very understanding about grades and accessible.

I really enjoyed his class (loved the labs too) and thought he was a fun professor, but his lectures were rather disjointed and all over the place, making it very hard to determine what will be on the test. Make certain you read and study the textbook, take good notes, and you should be okay.

Dr. Whillock loves to talk, about anything, even it if isn't going to be on the test. I got hardly anything out of his lectures and only memerized the information for the test and then forgot it. We got to watch some good movies in lab but that is about it. Don't take this class if you don't have to

He is very passionate about what he teaches, albeit sometimes a little scattered. He knows his stuff, and he often assumes that we are just as coherant on the material. He is a good professor, though, and has a wierd attraction. I liked the class. READ!

He gives out a list of names before each exam. Your grade is based solely on the 4 exams, no quizzes or papers. I had to take the class twice, but managed to get a B. Some extra credit is offered. Fun guy.

I'm not good at history, so the class was hard for me. But Whillock was fun and I like the way he talks about the things he knows a lot about. His handouts help A TON! But you DO need to read from the book.

Whillock is nice and all, but his lectures are hard to absorb, unless you're a hyper-fast writer. The only visual aides that he gives us are a typed outline of the day's lecture that has names on it and that's it- no powerpoints or anything.
