He writes his tests to take 30 minutes, but you get a very generous hour and fifteen minutes to complete each one. Some like his lecture style, some don't. I liked it because he'll throw in dry, witty humor in between slides that you won't get if you're not paying attention. Very approachable, and he definitely knows his stuff. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed him. He is super nice and very approachable. You must go to the TA reviews to do well on the exams and to know what to focus on. Make sure you read the journal article before class on journal days because you never know if you will be choosen to answer a question about it. Very light workload and an interesting class.

He's seriously an adorable old(ish) man. Some of the information can be a little dry, but his humor is so great and he always keep things interesting. I really didn't mind this class

Professor Hedges slides in clever humor in all his lectures. Lecture is very open, with lots of discussion and opportunities to participate. There is hardly any homework, so do well on the tests and make sure you come prepared for the article reviews. He doesn't post materials online, so attendance is mandatory to get notes on his lectures.

Dr. Hedges is the one of maybe 2 MDs on campus, he knows his stuff. He's a humble professor who memorizes everyone's name on the roll. The class material itself is great and he really loves people asking questions. Getting an A is very reasonable, going to the TA reviews before the test is most helpful to do well on them. Straight up baller

Tied for my favorite class at BYU. Dr. Hedges has a lot of clinical experience and knows A LOT. He is helpful and respectful. If you attend lectures and study hard you shouldn't have a problem getting an A. His tests aren't super easy, but they are reasonable and he won't test you on material not covered in class.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Hedges class. He's an excellent professor. He cares about the class and is very good at explaining difficult concepts. The workload is doable and tests are easy as long as you study what he tells you to before each test. Papers aren't difficult but grading depends on your TA. Definitely recommend Hedges-one of my favorites.

Dr. Hedges is a very nice man. He's willing to work with students and is very accommodating when issues come up. This was his first time teaching Ab Psych, so there were some flaws. Overall, it was really boring but rather easy.

Dr. Hedges was a great Abnormal Psych teacher! He is a psychiatrist by training, so he had cool stories and information to share about all the disorders we talked about and he could easily answer any of our questions off hand. He also has a great sense of humor that you'll catch if you're paying attention.

Great professor. Go to class because there are random quizzes (2 to 5 easy questions)and the points eventually rack up. The essays are super easy and if you talk to your TA he will tell you exactly what you need to do. Tests are pure memorization so just pay attention in class. Do the extra credit! It boosts your grade a ton I ended up getting 104%

Hedges is incredibly funny if you actually listen to what he's saying. Class is super easy, I had no knowledge of psych before taking the class, and I spent most of the class just playing on my ipod and listening to what he said. I didn't take notes, hardly opened the book, and I got 100% in the class. I didn't even know that was possible at BYU.

The class is super easy, just don't take it at 8 am over the summer!! Hedges is really good, he is hilarious and will answer any questions. The tests aren't too bad, just study! The essays are super easy, but your grade depends on the TA, definitely do the extra credit essay- totally worth it! I also did not ever read the book, take good notes.

The lectures are extremely interesting. He cares about his students and is willing to answer questions and is understanding. He is funny and prepares the students for the tests very well. He is a neuropsychologist so be prepared for a lot of axon and dendrite and stuff. Definitely Recommended.

Prof. Hedges is easily one of the best professors at BYU. I guess it depends on your sense of humor, but I was entertained every class period. The class is easy if you study for the tests. As far as writing the papers goes, always go over your essay with your TA or you will probably get a bad grade. If you're going to take psychology, take Hedges.

A little overrated. Very funny man, but extremely disorganized; skips all around the PowerPoint, making note-taking difficult. He gives irregular in-class quizzes off the top of his head, so they are often ambiguous and confusing. I also had a very bad TA; a terrible writer, I often went to her personally to point out her mistakes on my papers.

Prof. Hedges is so great. This was one of my favorite classes of the semester. There are in classes quizzes, so you have to attend, but lecture was always Hilarious. He's always making funny comments and jokes. Tests weren't too hard if you studied. I learned alot and had a good time.

He's a funny guy. I enjoyed the readings, which is good because most of the test material comes from those. His aim is to give a general knowledge of psychology, so he's not too hard. If you show up and do the readings, you'll do fine.
