Veeeeeeery chill. Took two classes with Dean and he's a great guy. Extremely intelligent but also very down to earth. A lot of liberal views that can sometimes seem over the top but overall an enjoyable class.

I loved his class. It's interesting if you're really down with politics, but stay far away if you need structured lectures, aren't invested in politics, and don't want to think about the concepts outside of class. Sadly, my TA was kind of a joke, but Dean Robinson's teaching style works for me.

Smart guy and very nice but this class was horrible. The course didn't follow its description. He is completely unorganized and it is obvious when he spends hours on easily understood concepts. He teaches his opinions as fact and backs them up with logical fallacy, loves to go on tangents. If you have any desire for real learning, STAY AWAY.

Horrible. Dean is really smart but his class is so unorganized and he seems to repeat the same 2 simple points over and over. He also lets kids who think they're god's gift to academia practically dominate the (large lecture) class. Discussions are mandatory and painful.

Polisci203 - Mad easy. Dean is BALLER. Love the way he teaches history - beginning with current-day history and moving backwards; helps conceptualization. Take the class for an easy A; must go to discussions.

The class is pretty easy. The only grades are the take home midterm, 2 papers, and the take home paper final. Dean's nice but likes to go off on tangents and sometimes can be a bit boring. This class is a good way to fulfill the HS gen ed without taking a real history class though.

he is a great professor and a great person, very approachable. i have taken all of his classes, they are all great. he is very articulate, the class is not difficult and he the time to make sure that students understand. he cares about his student and i would recommend to take every class he teaches. US Health Politics and Inequalities- this is his specialty area and he does a great job of giving interesting lectures and readings, but allows for lots of great class discussion as well. The class itself was straightforward and the subject was extremely interesting. Best polisci class I've had at UMass.
