Comment:

CIS50 from Debbie Fields was an unorganized mess and headache disguised as a class. An absolute struggle to maintain an A in this class due to her strict and unclear grading criteria. If I could sum up my experience with Debbie Fields, it would be getting a question wrong for answering with (A) instead of (a). Save yourself the stress. Avoid.

Hard class if youre a Mac user. Instructions geared toward pc users and doesnt give much instruction for those who have a Mac. Assignments are unorganized and doesnt say when things are due. Save yourself the stress and go with another professor whos more professional

Reading these reviews, I thought this class would be on the easier side. Her HW assignments are hard to follow and unclear. She was rude to me for the 1st HW bc I wasn't sure how to submit two files at once & she responded back with attitude saying I shouldn't "throw it all at her". Close to wanting to drop this class bc of her rudeness & attitude.

The pro's. Extremely understandable homework. She walks you through everything and you will leave class with a thorough understanding of computer basics. Quiz's and Test require just a basic understanding of material. Nothing tricky. The con's. The homework can take forever. I mean FOREVER! Hard to do while working full time and taking 2 classes

Online class is easy. The class is based on basic computer skills most people should already have. Each week consists of homework assignment/s and quiz/zes, and sometimes a quick discussion board. Be prepared to take lots of screen shots, and if you have a MAC, you'll probably struggle a little bit more, and hopefully you have Microsoft Office.

I've taken many online classes and her online cis50 is the most unorganized online class I've ever taken. There are like 4 assignments for 1 whole assignment with quiz and discussion board, but doesn't even explain whats really due and whats not. doesn't email back. Also makes all assignments for windows and doesn make any instructions for mac user

I took her online CIS 55 course and it was relatively easy. The only difficult part was figuring out when assignments were due since it wasn't clear. She also wasn't great at emailing back. She ended up passing me on the final without me having to take it, and I ended up with an A (even though I was pretty sure most my homework was turned in late).

I'm not really sure why she has terrible reviews because I took her 8 week class over summer and it was incredibly easy. You can finish the weekly homework and quizzes in one day and she replies to emails fairly quick. There's one incredibly easy project as your final and a 25 question final. She's super easy, just put in the effort.

I took this online class during summer and it's an easy A as long as you put the effort and work into it. You could finish the whole weekly agenda in one day and be free for the whole week if you want or you could spread it out evenly throughout the week. The quizzes were kinda difficult but nothing impossible.

I was very pleased with Ms. Fields involvement in this online class. Her power points aligned with the book and provided a very useful guideline. Best of all, she responded quickly to my email questions and comments unlike previous online instructors I have had. The course was well organized and I learned a lot. Great job overall!

THIS TEACHER IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER HAD! Her assignment instructions never make sense & she uses older versions of programs than even I do! If you send her an email about a problem you're having she will send you a generic reply, it's obvious she doesn't care enough to actually read your email! I'm disappointed Las Positas would employ her!

You must do the reading to pass the quizzes. I do feel like most of the reading has nothing to do with the homework. I did learn a lot doing the homework. Her directions and assignments are very clear. If you do the work you can easily get a high grade. I would take her again.

The class itself and assignments---boring. The textbook is used weekly in order to take your quiz- MY GOSH can that book get boring and its a lot to read. The class work has NOTHING to do with what you read. The work is for geared for new computer and Microsoft office users. Ms.Fields- she's ehh I wouldn't sign up for any more classes she teaches

Horrible at communicating via email. Sometimes I would have to send multiple emails. She couldn't give me a clear understanding of where I stand in the class(more than 1/2 way through the semester) & then tells me that gradebook in BB can be misleading??? Not very helpful at all when it comes to assignments. Do not recommend her online course

Extremely mean and rude. Asked her to help with something, and she told me she had put everything I needed to know on blackboard and I should "manage to find it." Overall, Very unfriendly and unhelpful. I will be dropping the class due to her attitude.

This class is very difficult. The teacher packs a lot of hw and half the time you have no idea what ur doing because her instructions are unhelpful and puzzling. I got good grades on assignments then my final grade is a C, maybe she needs to take a math class, because it just doesn't add up.
